Seven Chakras

30 12 2009

(7) The Crown Chakra: This chakra as the name implies is located around the crown of the head, and relates to Consciousness as pure awareness. The Crown chakra is our Divine connection to the inner realms of reality, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When well developed this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, Spiritual connection, and bliss.

(6) The Brow (Third Eye) Chakra: This chakra is located directly between the eyebrows and is often known as the “third eye”. It is related to the ability of seeing, both psychically and intuitively, being closely associated with “clairvoyance” or “clear seeing”. A clairvoyant can perceive, usually visually within the “Minds eye” inner realms of reality beyond the physical world, particularly the Astral worlds, and can also perceive things in the physical world beyond the reach of the normal five physical senses.

Thousands of years ago everyone had a highly developed brow chakra thereby enabling the people of the time to maintain full contact with, and awareness of the inner realms of life and reality. Over the course of tens of thousands of years however, as mankind has become increasingly focussed upon the material world of the five physical senses, the perception and use of the brow chakra has steadily diminished to the point where it is unfortunately largely unknown and unused today. It is however quite possible to redevelop the brow chakra to the level of clairvoyance and other related abilities, as we will discuss later.

(5) The Throat Chakra: This chakra as the name suggests is located in the region of the throat and is related to communication and creativity. By means of the throat chakra the world is experienced symbolically through vibration, for example as the vibration of sound representing language. It is also therefore the chakra of “listening” to the inner realms by means of the more subtle vibration of communications. The mediumship ability known as “the direct voice” involves physically audible, often even loud communications from the Astral worlds utilising ectoplasm in conjunction with the throat chakra as the gateway to produce the “Spirit voices” which can be physically heard, often very loudly and clearly without any special equipment.

(4) The Heart Chakra: This is the middlemost of the major chakras and the lowest forming part of the upper triangle of chakra’s associated with connections with the inner realms. This triangle of chakras encompasses the crown, brow and heart chakras. The heart chakra is related to love and is also the integrator of opposites in the psyche; the Mind and body, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity. A healthy heart chakra allows people to love deeply and unconditionally, feel compassion, and enjoy a deep sense of peace, contentment and centeredness.

The heart has always been a symbol of love in many cultures, often depicted by a representation of a physical red heart in a characteristic shape. Emotions people associate with the physical heart, in particular love, are actually originating from the heart chakra of the Energy Body, and not from the physical heart organ itself as most people might suppose.

(3) The Solar Plexus (Navel) Chakra: This chakra, often known as the “power chakra” is located in the region of the solar plexus or navel and is another of the major and very important chakra.. It rules personal power, will and autonomy as well as metabolism. When healthy, the solar plexus chakra brings Energy, effectiveness, spontaneity and non-dominating power. The solar plexus chakra is also connected with the Ether, known as the Akasha in far Eastern cultures, and is a receiver of intuition from the Spirit worlds and Higher Self. Many people will recall occasions when they have thought about something and have instantly received a strange feeling in the area of the lower stomach as a direct result. People often refer to having such experiences as having a “gut feeling”, a “sinking feeling” or other sensation in the area of the stomach. This is a inner communication by way of intuition and impressions originating in the inner realms or from the Higher Self, and is a confirmation or warning about a thought within the Mind. It can therefore be a positive “gut feeling” or a negative “gut feeling”. Whichever type of feeling it is, the person experiencing such a feeling would do very well indeed to take full heed of the feeling and therefore message received, and proceed accordingly. This is because the solar plexus chakra, the “sun center” is our emotional connection with the Inner Universe and Higher-Self.

(2) The Sacral (Genital) Chakra: This chakra is located around the region of the groin, and as with other chakras is associated with feelings, and it is related to the water element is associated with sexuality. It connects people to others through feelings, desires and sensations. Ideally this chakra brings to us fluidity and grace, depth of feeling, sexual fulfilment and the ability to accept change. This is also the chakra of sexual desire and physical reproduction.

(1) The Root (Tail) Chakra: This chakra is located at the base of the spine. It represents the Earth element and is related to survival instincts, to the sense of grounding and connection to the physical body and world. Ideally this chakra also brings the possibilities of good health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence.

The Role of the Sacred Mysteries in the Evolution of Humanity

Newsletter of the Aquarian Age Community, Diamond Light
2009, Issue No. 3

Stage by stage we slowly make our approach to the goal of conscious and intelligent awareness. Step by step we are mastering matter and making more adequate the mechanism of awareness and of contact. Little by little we (and by that I mean the human family, as a whole) are approaching the “place of recognition,” and are preparing to climb the mountain of vision. If aspirants but realised the wonders of that revelation, and if they grasped the magnificence of the reward given to their efforts, we would have less failure, more courage, a greater and steadier achievement, and consequently a more rapidly illumined world.1

It is an axiom that the evolutionary urge is inherent in all life. This evolutionary urge is fundamentally the will to destroy limitation. From the esoteric perspective, this process involves the inevitable and unavoidable struggle between the indwelling divine life and the dense, prison house of form which ever presents a circumscribed limitation. This urge to overcome all obstacles and all challenges, at its primal core, is the will of the indwelling divinity to express itself fully and truly.

Today, there is a re-orientation of people everywhere to things spiritual accompanied by a related interest in planetary welfare and the common good. The perseverance shown in the search for love and light and the longing and desire for right human relations among so many is unprecedented.

As a race, humanity is thus actively engaged in the predestined work of the Ages: the spiritualization of matter or the manifestation of spirit upon the physical plane. This feat of “bringing heaven to earth” and of refining earth to the point that “heaven” may manifest is possible only to the human being because it is the human being who not only can be conscious of both states of being, but who embodies both. Thus, only the human being can choose to manifest the one or the other. Only the human being can create the bridge that will make of the twain but one.

Throughout the ages, the method and manner through which to overcome the limitations obstructing the expression of the divine inner essence has traditionally been the purview of the Sacred Mysteries, usually taught in the Mystery Schools. Referring to such “holy places,” Alice Bailey writes in the book, From Bethlehem to Calvary:

“Always there have been temples and mysteries and holy places where the true aspirant could find what he sought, and the needed instruction as to the way he should go. ….It is a way that leads from that which lies without to that which dwells within. It reveals step by step, the hidden life which every form and symbol veils and hides. ….[the aspirant] passes from the stage of inquiry to what the Tibetans call ‘straight knowledge.’ Upon that path vision and hope give place to realisation….. Those who in the past thus worked, agonised and attained, constitute a long chain, reaching out of the remotest past into the present, for the initiates are still with us and the door still stands wide open.”2

The focus in these mystery schools has ever been on the age-old counsel, “Man, know thyself.” It was thought then, as it is today, that as the individual (the microcosm) truly knows all there is to be known about his/her full beingness, all would be known about the universe and that Intelligent Energy, we call “God” (the macrocosm). The laws of correspondence and analogy were applied and the truth was taught that “as above, so below” and “as within, so without.”

In the publication entitled, The Mystery Schools, Grace F. Knoche refers to such schools as universities of the Soul:

“A Mystery school is a university of the soul, a school for the study of the mysteries of the inner nature of man and of surrounding nature. By understanding these mysteries, the pupil perceives his intimate relationship if not ultimate union with divinity, and strives through discipline, traditionally imposed, to become at one with his inner god.”3

All that is good, beautiful and true; all that is noble and grand in human nature and every divine faculty and human aspiration has been cultured through the Sacred Mysteries. As the well-spring for the arts and sciences of countless civilizations and the source for all of the world’s religions, the Sacred Mysteries have given us a code of ethics, based on altruism, that has become universal. The curriculum was based on the Ageless Wisdom—that body of inner or esoteric teaching that reappears throughout the ages in a form that is suitable to the period.

The whole essence of truth cannot be transmitted from mouth to ear. Nor can any pen describe it, not even that of the recording Angel, unless man finds the answer in the sanctuary of his own heart, in the innermost depths of his divine intuitions.4

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky referred to these “Eternal Verities,” as she called them, as the “Secret Doctrine.” Each major cycle receives new forms of the same ancient yet basic teaching. Discerning relationships between newly presented and already known facts makes possible the revelation of new and deeper aspects of the teachings. Alternately, teachings that initially may have been considered fanciful or even heretical, by the unenlightened, eventually come to be accepted as commonplace. Witness, for example, our current understanding in so many of the sciences such as geometry, algebra, astronomy and chemistry that once were part of the esoteric curriculum.

From a variety of multicultural sources such as The Tibetan Book of the Dead (The Great Book of Natural Liberation Through Understanding in the Between), The Egyptian Book of the Dead (The Book of Going Forth By Day) and the relatively more recent texts such as The Secret Doctrine by H.P. Blavatsky and The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall, we learn about the profound and Ageless Wisdom that has influenced the “rational Soul of the World” as per the dedication in Mr. Hall’s tome.

Within the introductory forward, Lama Anagarika Govinda explains that The Tibetan Book of the Dead was written because “the time has come to break the seals of silence.” Humanity “has come to the juncture where it must decide whether to be content with the subjugation of the material world, or to strive after the conquest of the spiritual world, by subjugating selfish desires and transcending self-imposed limitations.”

Within this same forward we are reminded of humanity’s evolutionary attainment and unique opportunity. Hinduism, Lama Govinda states, recognizes 8,400,000 graded kinds of births culminating in the human being. The Buddha correspondingly taught that it is a privilege to be born as a human being for only human beings have the rare opportunity of liberation through their own decisive effort. Only human beings can achieve liberation “through a ‘turning-about in the deepest seat of consciousness.”

The perspective and tendency of the divine life is always one of wholeness and synthesis. Each major world cycle receives new forms of the same ancient yet basic teaching. Thus, it is no surprise that the spiritual light that for many long years has spread westward from the East must reach a comparable climax in the West.

With the intent to fan the flames for that spiritual awakening and attainment in the Western mind, certain of the Masters of the Wisdom have given forth a body of teaching, adapted for our contemporary time. Via telepathic rapport and in closest cooperation with these Masters of the Wisdom, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky brought us what are referred to (for our current times) the “Preparatory Teachings” of the Ageless Wisdom. These are contained within The Secret Doctrine and Isis Unveiled, published in the latter part of the 19th century. Via the same telepathic rapport and cooperation, Alice A. Bailey brought us the “Intermediate Teachings” contained within 20 books written during the period of 1919 to 1949. Complementing these two series of teachings are the 17 books published by the Agni Yoga Society.

It is expected that when humanity can begin applying this Wisdom in the day-to-day life, a third and final phase of this cycle of the Sacred Mysteries will be given out in the early part of this century. On this eve of a new decade, it is helpful to recollect that the promise of this 21st century—although not yet the certainty—is that humanity, arising from its difficult experience in the densest of matter, can now avail itself of a great evolutionary opportunity as revealed within these Teachings.

However, every step of the way must be carved out by each individual and there is no short or easy road out of darkness into light. The Sacred Mysteries of the Ages are never imposed in a totalitarian, dogmatic or assertive manner—nor can these be purchased or conferred by any outer teacher. A wise and dedicated mind, for example, cannot be forcefully created, nor can love and wisdom be coerced or conferred. These attributes are a product of personal striving, will and motivation and must unfold and evolve from within each individual. The great opportunity and the “wonders of revelation” that are the promise of the Aquarian Age are available to all who seek and steadfastly strive to apply themselves to this Great Work of the Ages.

What the bleep do we know? Down the rabbit hole. (Film)

Film Review: What The $#@%! Do We Know?
(AKA: What the Bleep Do We Know?)

By Anna Darrah, June 8, 2004

This reality-shattering film is an enigma to most film festival programmers who have no idea where to list it in their catalogs.  And list it they will because this film is powerful and mind bending, with audiences begging for it as word of mouth spreads slowly across the country.  It is uncategorizable because the film, created by William Arntz, Betsy Chasse and Mark Vicente, actually blends three different types of filmmaking with at least as many genres.  It is a documentary interviewing 14 of the most thought-provoking scientists, academics and mystics of our time.  It is a narrative feature-film starring Marlee Matlin, Elaine Hendrix and a host of other recognizable actors.  It is an animated exploration of the science of our inner beings with giggling, evil, sexy, jiggling amoeba-like cells that, unbeknownst to us, run our lives.  It’s a romantic comedy, a drama, and a scientific treatise.  But the weirdest thing about this film is that it works!  It’s a great movie.  The best kind of movie.  You learn, you laugh, you feel compassion and intrigue, and most of all you feel inspired by your own potential by the end of the film.  It is truly a life-changing experience.  I bet by now you’re really wondering what this film is about!

“What The !@$%& Do We Know?” tells us that life as we know it is really much more subjective than we generally think it is and asks the question, “who is responsible for my life being what it is today?”  The answer, of course, is you.  You are responsible for your life being what it is today because from a scientific standpoint (the mystics and scientists tell us), your life is purely what you perceive it to be.  At this point, we are introduced to Marlee Matlin as Amanda, a bitter photographer who is so wrapped up in her past failures that she is practically blind to her present life.  Until this day, when for some unknown reason, the Universe decides to show her in great detail exactly how reality works.

Measuring Consciousness Levels (Dr. Hawkins)

2 12 2009

Source: SpeedofLightFilms.com

Consciousness has been defined loosely as a constellation of attributes of mind such as subjectivity, self-awareness, sentience, and the ability to perceive a relationship between oneself and one’s environment.

The progress toward the attainment of higher consciousness can be derived through the research of David Hawkins, in Power vs. Force, through a concept he calls ‘consciousness frequencies’. The consciousness frequency of humanity underwent a major shift around the Harmonic Convergence in 1987, and again surrounding the events of September 11, 2001.

According to Dr. Hawkins’ research, the scale of consciousness frequencies runs from 0-1000, with a turning point around 200, where we move from self-destructive to life-enhancing experiences. At the bottom of the scale is shame, progressing up through apathy, grief, and fear, to anger, pride, and finally, at level 200, to courage. Above this line, beginning with courage, it progresses up to neutrality, acceptance, reason, then further up to love, joy, peace, and finally reaching level 700 embarks on the various states of enlightenment. The journey up this scale is representative of our individual spiritual evolution.

According to Dr. Hawkins’ system the average human consciousness on the planet right now is just below 200, yet the collective human consciousness is above this line. This paradox is due to the fact that the people vibrating at a much higher level of consciousness along this scale helps to counterbalance the majority of others vibrating below 200.

The scale advances logarithmically. For instance, one person vibrating at love, which is 500 on the scale, counterbalances 750,000 individuals below the line, while one enlightened person at 700 counterbalances 70 million others below the line!

—————————————————————————————
SHAME TO PRIDE SCALE:

Shame (20) – Just a step above death, this is the consciousness level of one contemplating suicide or thoughts of death. This level can be thought of as self-directed hatred.

Guilt (30) – This is a step above shame, yet perhaps still having thoughts of suicide. Thinking of oneself as a sinner, and unable to forgive oneself for past transgressions.

Apathy (50) – Feeling hopeless or victimized; the state of learned helplessness. Many homeless people are trapped here.

Grief (75) – A state of perpetual sadness, loss and depression. One might drop down here after losing a loved one.

Fear (100) – Seeing the world as dangerous and unsafe; paranoia. There is an urgent need to want to rise above this level, or else remain trapped for a long time, such as in an abusive relationship.

Desire (125) – Not to be confused with setting and achieving goals, this is the level of addictive desire, craving, and lust- for money, approval, power, and fame. Other examples include consumerism, materialism, excessive smoking, drinking, and drug abuse.

Anger (150) – The level of strong hate and frustration, often from not having one’s desires met at the lower level. This level can spur one to action at higher levels, or it can keep one stuck in hatred. In an abusive relationship, there’s often an angry person coupled with a fear person.

Pride (175) – The first level where one start to feel good, but it’s a false feeling. It’s dependent on external circumstances (money, prestige, etc), so it’s vulnerable. Yet pride can lead to nationalism, racism, and religious wars. This is often a state of irrational denial and defensiveness; religious fundamentalism is an example of this level. A person becomes so closely enmeshed in their beliefs that they see an attack on their beliefs as an attack on themselves.

CONSCIOUSNESS DEFINED:

The progress toward the attainment of higher consciousness can be derived through the research of Dr. David Hawkins, in Power vs. Force, through a concept he calls ‘consciousness frequencies’. The consciousness frequency of humanity underwent a major shift around the Harmonic Convergence in 1987, and again surrounding the events of September 11, 2001.

—————————————————————————————
COURAGE TO REASON SCALE:

Courage (200) – The first level of true strength. This is where one starts to see life as challenging and exciting instead of overwhelming. This level promotes interest in personal growth, such as skill-building, career advancement, and further education. Here a person starts to see their future as an improvement upon their past, rather than a continuation of the same.

Neutrality (250) – This level is epitomized by the phrase, “live and let live.” It’s flexible, relaxed, and unattached. Whatever happens, there is no need to have anything to prove. One feels safe and easily relating with other people. This is a very comfortable place sometimes promoting a level of complacency and laziness. Here a person is taking care of their needs, but won’t push too hard.

Willingness (310) – At this level a persona is safe and comfortable, and can start using their energy more effectively. One begins to take action and thinks about time management, productivity, and getting organized, things that weren’t so important at the level of neutrality. This is the level where the development of willpower and self-discipline becomes important. This is the point where one consciousness becomes more organized and disciplined.

Acceptance (350) – This is the level where a powerful shift happens, and one awakens to the possibilities of living proactively. At the level of willingness one becomes competent, and now their abilities are multiplied to good use. This is the level of setting and achieving goals. This level drives many people to switch careers, start a new business, or change their lifestyle.

Reason (400) – At this level one transcends the emotional aspects of the lower levels and begins to think clearly, rationally, and start making meaningful contributions. Hawkins defines this as the level of medicine and science. At the very high end, this is the level of Einstein and Freud.

—————————————————————————————
LOVE TO ENLIGHTENMENT

Love (500) – Unconditional love, a permanent understanding of one’s connectedness with all that exists, a deep sense of compassion. At the level of reason, one is living in service to the mind. At the level of love, one now places their mind and all your other talents and abilities in service to one’s heart. This is the level of awakening to one’s true purpose. All motives at this level are pure and uncorrupted by the desires of the ego. This is the level of lifetime service to humanity and beginning to feel as being guided by a force greater than oneself. Examples are Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Dr. Albert Schweitzer. Hawkins claims this level is reached only by 1 in 250 people during their entire lifetimes.

Joy (540) – This is the ultimate state of pervasive, unshakable happiness. Eckhart Tolle describes this state in The Power of Now. This is the level of saints and advanced spiritual teachers. Just being around people at this level makes one feel incredible. At this level life is fully guided by synchronicity and intuition. There’s no more need to set goals and make detailed plans — the expansion of your consciousness allows one to operate at a much higher level.

Peace (600) – Supreme transcendence. Hawkins claims this level is reached only by one person in 10 million.

Enlightenment (700-1000) – The highest level of human consciousness, where humanity blends with divinity. Extremely rare. The level of Krishna, Buddha, and Jesus. Even to just think and study about people at this level can raise one’s consciousness.
