The Healing Power of the Mind and Visualization

Visualization Helps Foster Healing

A picture is worth a thousand words.

We have heard that saying before. This phrase is certainly true in the case of visualization. Visualization, a form of self-hypnosis, is a tool anyone can use to help foster healing. By providing positive pictures (creative imagery) and self-suggestion, visualization can change emotions that subsequently have a physical effect on the body.

Our belief system is based upon the accumulation of verbal and non-verbal suggestions that have been gathered throughout our life experience. Through patterns of repetition and its associated rewards and punishment we learn to create our own perception of reality. In essence, we therefore become what we think. In healing, repetitive use of positive visualization allows access to the mind-body connection. This lets the mind and body work together to foster the healing process of the body on a physical level. What is the mind-body connection and how does it work? When we have an emotion it generates a feeling that turns into a physical sensation. For example: You are watching a horror movie, you feel frightened and then get a chill up your spine. In this case you were getting a negative suggestion through your sensory perception (sight and sound), that produced an emotion of fear which turned into the physical sensation of chills up your spine. Visualization uses positive images to produce positive emotions that manifest into positive physical sensations in the body.

Sounds simple, but does it work? Can what we think actually have an effect on healing? Bodies do react to the thoughts you make. Our psychological/emotional state affects the endocrine system. For example, the emotion of fear is related to adrenaline. If no feeling of fear exists there is no adrenaline and the same applies in reverse- no adrenaline, no fear. They work in relationship to each other. Wherever a thought goes there is a body chemical reaction.

The hypothalamus, the emotional center of the brain, transforms emotions into physical response. The receptor of neuropeptides, the hypothalamus also controls the bodyís appetite, blood sugar levels, body temperature, adrenal and pituitary glands, heart, lung, digestive and circulatory systems. Neuropeptides, the chemical messenger hormones, carry emotions back and forth between the mind and body. They link perception in the brain to the body via organs, hormones and cellular activity. Neuropeptides influence every major section of the immune system, so the body and mind do work together as one unit.

The brain is a highly efficient system that is connected to every cell in your body by billions of connections. It is divided into two sides ñ the left, logical side (words, logic, rational thought) and the right creative side (imagination and intuition). Day to day circumstances usually are met in a logical, left brain mode; however by yielding to the right, creative side of the brain we actually restore balance in the brain. This allows access to the mind-body connection to achieve what you want. The right side of the brain automatically steers you to your goal. It totally accepts what you want to accomplish without giving an opinion and acts upon it without judgement. That is why visualization targets the right, creative side of the brain and not the left, logical side.

Positive thought is essential to producing positive results. Negative thoughts and emotions lower the immune system, while positive thought and emotions actually boost the immune system. To maximize success of visualization as a support to the healing process, the following suggestions are offered:

Define Your Specific Intention

Visualization puts your intention of what you want to work. The more specific the intention, the more specific the results. Remember whatever you believe is what your body will do. So when you are thinking of your intention make sure it is:

  • Clear
  • Specific
  • Achievable
  • You feel, know and trust it is being accomplished

Take Responsibility

Trying to do visualization without taking responsibility will prove to be futile experience. To accomplish what you want you must take action and responsibility. Visualization usually takes about 6 weeks to work. It is done once in the morning and before bedtime. Some people do see or feel results the very first time but remember everyoneís body and mind are different and so is the way they process information so have patience. Responsibility is:

  • Be accountable to and for yourself
  • Make a commitment
  • Do visualization regularly
  • Be persistent and patient
  • Keep positive

Get Mentally Relaxed

A relaxed state puts allows you direct access to your subconscious mind. Here are some steps to help you relax:

  • Find a quiet place. Relax in a favorite chair or lie down.
  • Get comfortable and loosen clothing
  • Uncross your arms and legs
  • Get centered by focusing on the breath and breathing (this activates the vagus nerve which is the major quieting nerve in the body)
  • Totally relax your body and mind

Visualization for healing is a simple process. Once you are relaxed the next step is to actualize your visualiztion.

  • Think of or speak your intention out loud.
  • Close your eyes and imagine yourself in the healing process or as you want to be.
  • Watch as your body heals you
  • Feel the healing taking place
  • Know the healing is being accomplished

If you have difficulty you may want to try one or more of these methods:

  • Use creative imagery like seeing the cells in your body healing you; your immune system fighting off invaders; your pain being taken away by healing mud
  • Imagine yourself in a very beautiful place whole, healthy and happy
  • Try reading scripts from a visualization or self-hypnosis book
  • Try making your own tape in your own voice

Visualization does work to help boost your body back to health. Don’t just work on the body, add the mind to maximize your healing process with visualization.

Healing: A Tibetan Buddhist Perspective

What is healing?

What do we mean by healing? Do we mean healing of the physical body, healing of the psyche/soul/mind, or both of these. What is the connection between body and mind?

Many modern healing techniques regard successful healing as the cure of the presenting physical problem, whether this be symptoms of cancer, AIDS, chronic fatigue syndrome, or some other illness. If the person does not recover from the presenting physical problem, or if that problem recurs or another develops at a later time, this may be regarded as failure.

It is not uncommon in these situations for the therapist or organisation that has been helping the “sick” person to infer or state that the person must have done something wrong, that they haven’t stuck strictly enough to the diet or meditated enough or done whatever else it was that they were supposed to do.

In these situations the person can become very guilty, depressed or angry. In many cases, they just give up hope. To avoid these problems, it is necessary to consider a more comprehensive view of healing that incorporates not only physical healing but mental healing.

Mind is the creator

To understand healing from the Buddhist perspective, a useful starting point is to consider the Buddhist concept of mind. The mind is non-physical. It is formless, shapeless, colourless, genderless and has the ability to cognize or know. The basic nature of mind is pure, limitless and pervasive, like the sun shining unobstructedly in a clear sky.

The problems or sickness we experience are like clouds in the sky obscuring the sun. Just as the clouds temporarily block the sun but are not of the same nature as the sun, our problems or sickness are temporary and the causes of them can be removed from the mind.

From the Buddhist perspective, the mind is the creator of sickness and health. In fact, the mind is believed to be the creator of all of our problems. That is, the cause of disease is internal, not external.

Unlimited potential

You are probably familiar with the concept of karma, which literally means action. All of our actions lay down imprints on our mindstream which have the potential to ripen at some time in the future. These actions can be positive, negative or neutral. These karmic seeds are never lost. The negative ones can ripen at any time in the form of problems or sickness; the positive ones in the form of happiness, health or success.

To heal present sickness, we have to engage in positive actions now. To prevent sickness occurring again in the future, we have to purify, or clear, the negative karmic imprints that remain on our mindstream.

Karma is the creator of all happiness and suffering. If we don’t have negative karma we will not get sick or receive harm from others. Buddhism asserts that everything that happens to us now is the result of our previous actions, not only in this lifetime but in other lifetimes. What we do now determines what will happen to us in the future.

In terms of present and future healing, the main objective is to guard our own actions, or karma. This requires constant mindfulness and awareness of all the actions of our body, speech and mind. We should avoid carrying out any actions that are harmful to ourselves and to others.

Buddhism is therefore a philosophy of total personal responsibility. We have the ability to control our destiny, including the state of our body and mind. Each one of us has unlimited potential – what we have to do is develop that potential.

Healthy mind, healthy body

Why do some people get ill while others remain in the best of health? Consider skin cancer. Of all the people who spend many hours out in the sun, some will develop skin cancer and others will not. The external situation is the same for all of them, but only some will be affected. The secondary cause of the skin cancer – the sun – is external, but the primary cause – the imprints laid down on the mindstream by previous actions – is internal.

Also, people with similar types of cancer will often respond quite differently to the same treatment, whether this be orthodox or alternative. Some will make a complete recovery. Some will recover temporarily and then develop a recurrence. Others will rapidly become worse and die. Logically one has to look to the mind for the cause of these differences.

Buddhism asserts that for lasting healing to occur, it is necessary to heal not only the current disease with medicines and other forms of treatment, but also the cause of the disease, which originates from the mind. If we do not heal or purify the mind, the sickness and problems will recur again and again.

This introduces the notion of “ultimate healing”. By ridding the mind of all its accumulated “garbage”, all of the previously committed negative actions and thoughts, and their imprints, we can be free of problems and sickness permanently. We can achieve ultimate healing – a state of permanent health and happiness.

In order to heal the mind and hence the body, we have to eliminate negative thoughts and their imprints, and replace them with positive thoughts and imprints.

The inner enemy

The basic root of our problems and sickness is selfishness, what we can call the inner enemy. Selfishness causes us to engage in negative actions, which place negative imprints on the mindstream. These negative actions can be of body, speech or mind, such as thoughts of jealousy, anger and greed.

Selfish thoughts also increase pride, which results in feelings of jealousy towards those higher than us, superiority towards those lower than us and competitiveness towards equals. These feelings in turn result in an unhappy mind, a mind that is without peace. On the other hand, thoughts and actions directed to the well-being of others bring happiness and peace to the mind.

Conscious living, conscious dying

It is important to consider what happens to us when we die. The Buddhist view is that at the time of death the subtle consciousness, which carries with it all the karmic imprints from previous lives, separates from the body. After spending up to forty-nine days in an intermediate state between lives, the consciousness enters the fertilised egg of its future mother at or near the moment of conception. New life then begins. We bring into our new life a long history of previous actions with the potential to ripen at any time or in any of a myriad ways.

The state of mind at the time of death is vitally important and can have a considerable effect on the situation into which we are reborn. Hence the need to prepare well for death and to be able to approach our death with a peaceful, calm and controlled mind.

Death itself can be natural, due to exhaustion of the lifespan, or untimely, due to certain obstacles. These obstacles arise from the mind and can be counteracted in different ways. One method commonly employed in Tibetan Buddhism to remove life obstacles is to save the lives of animals that would otherwise have been killed. For example, animals can be rescued from being slaughtered or live bait can be purchased and released.

For those with a life threatening illness, it is important to understand that being free of that illness doesn’t mean that you will have a long life. There are many causes of death and death can happen to anybody at any time.

Not just pills and potions

Tibetan medicine is popular and effective. It is mostly herbal medicine, but its uniqueness lies in the fact that in the course of its preparation it is blessed extensively with prayers and mantras, giving it more power.

It is said that taking such medicine will either result in recovery, or, if the person is close to death, they will die quickly and painlessly. (Another theory, based on personal experience, is that it tastes so bad you want to recover quickly so that you can stop taking the medicine!)

Blessed pills and blessed water are also used extensively. The more spiritually developed the person carrying out the blessings or the healing practices, the more powerful is the healing result or potential. These pills often contain the relics of previous great meditators and saints, bestowing much power on the pills.

Many Tibetan lamas actually blow on the affected part of the body to effect healing or pain relief. I have seen a person with AIDS with intense leg pain have his pain disappear after a lama meditated intensely and blew on his leg for twenty minutes. Compassion is the power that heals.

Visualisation can also be very powerful healing. One method is to visualise a ball of white light above your head, with the light spreading in all directions. Imagine the light spreading through your body, completely dissolving away all sickness and problems. Concentrate on the image of your body as completely healed and in the nature of light.

This type of meditation is even more powerful when combined with visualising holy images and reciting mantras. I often tell my Christian patients to visualise the light as Jesus, with the light emanating from him.

In the Tibetan tradition, there are many Buddha figures (deities) which can be visualised while reciting their mantra. The Medicine Buddha; Chenrezig, or Avalokiteshvara (the Buddha of Compassion); or one of the long-life deities such as Amitabha are commonly used. Deities can be in peaceful or wrathful aspects. The wrathful ones are often used to cure heavy disease such as AIDS.

If you are not comfortable with these images, you can use other objects such as crystals, or simply visualise all the universal healing energy absorbing into you, transforming your body into light, and imagine yourself as totally healed.

Over the centuries many people have used these methods and have recovered from their illnesses, even from conditions such as leprosy, paralysis and cancer. The aim of these practises is to heal the mind as well as the body, so that the diseases or problems will not recur in the future.

Also, many diseases are associated with spirit harm. Lamas and other practitioners will often recite certain prayers and mantras or engage in ceremonies to stop the spirit harm and allow the person to recover.

A seven year old girl I knew had petit-mal epilepsy as the result of spirit harm; the epilepsy disappeared after various rituals and prayers had been performed. Whenever she had an epileptic attack, the girl would see a frightening apparition coming towards her. After the initial prayers had been performed, however, her attacks lessened and she would see a brick wall between her and the frightening figure. This wall was the colour of a monk’s robes. Eventually the attacks and visions disappeared altogether.

In summary, we can say that the essential ingredients in the healing process, for both the person doing the healing and the person being healed, are compassion, faith, and pure morality.

Changing our minds

Another powerful method of healing in Tibetan Buddhism is to meditate on the teachings known as thought transformation. These methods allow a person to see the problem or sickness as something positive rather than negative. A problem is only a problem if we label it a problem. If we look at a problem differently, we can see it as an opportunity to grow or to practice, and regard it as something positive. We can think that having this problem now ripens our previous karma, which does not then have to be experienced in the future.

If someone gets angry at us, we can choose to be angry in return or to be thankful to them for giving us the chance to practice patience and purify this particular karma. It takes a lot of practice to master these methods, but it can be done.

It is our concepts which often bring the greatest suffering and fear. For example, due to a set of signs and symptoms, the doctor gives the label ‘AIDS’ or ‘cancer’. This can cause great distress in a person’s mind, because they forget that it is only a label, that there is no truly existent, permanent AIDS or cancer. ‘Death’ is another label that can generate a lot of fear. But in reality ‘death’ is only a label for what happens when the consciousness separates from the body, and there is no real death from its own side. This also relates to our concept of ‘I’ and of all other phenomena. They are all just labels and have no true, independent existence.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche, a highly realised Tibetan Lama, says that the most powerful healing methods of all are those based on compassion, the wish to free other beings from their suffering. The compassionate mind – calm, peaceful, joyful and stress-free – is the ideal mental environment for healing. A mind of compassion stops our being totally wrapped up in our own suffering situations. By reaching out to others we become aware of not just my pain but the pain (that is, the pain of all beings).

Many people find the following technique powerful and effective: think “By me experiencing this disease or pain or problem, may all the other beings in the world be free of this disease, pain or problem” or “I am experiencing this pain/sickness/problem on behalf of all living beings.”

One voluntarily takes on suffering in order for others to be free of it. This is similar to the Christian concept of regarding one’s suffering as sharing the suffering of Jesus on the cross. Even death can be used in this way: “By me experiencing death, may all other beings be freed from the fears and difficulties of the death process.”

We have to ask ourselves “What is the purpose of my life? Why do I want to have good health and a long life?”. The ultimate purpose of our life is to be of benefit to others. If we live longer and just create more negative karma, it is a waste of time.

Giving and taking is another powerful meditation. As you breathe in, visualise taking the suffering and the causes of suffering from all living beings, in the form of black smoke. When breathing in the black smoke, visualise smashing the black rock of selfishness at your heart, allowing compassion to manifest freely. As you breathe out, visualise breathing out white light that brings them happiness, enjoyment and wisdom.

Developing compassion is more important than having friends, wealth, education. Why? Because it is only compassion that guarantees a happy and peaceful mind, and it is the best thing to help us at the time of death

We can use our sickness and problems in a very powerful way for spiritual growth, resulting in the development of compassion and wisdom. The highest development of these qualities is the full realisation of our potential, the state of full enlightenment. Enlightenment brings great benefit to ourselves and allows us to work extensively for others. This is the state of ultimate healing.

I have outlined some of the concepts that are the basis of the Buddhist philosophy on healing. Many of these methods were taught by Lama Zopa Rinpoche at Tara Institute in Melbourne in August 1991 during the first course given by Lama Zopa specifically for people with life-threatening illnesses.

Some of these ideas may appear unusual at first, but please keep an open mind about them. If some of the ideas appear useful to you, please use them; if not, leave them aside.

May you achieve health and happiness.

1. Self-Healing

The healing journey is ultimately one of self-healing. The body is a marvelous self-healing mechanism. It contains the knowledge of how to function properly and bring itself back into balance. Our job is to learn to align ourselves with the natural, healing processes of nature. A healer may help to bring us into alignment, but it is ultimately up to us to integrate and sustain the results of the healing.

A good healer will empower you in your own self-healing rather than create a dependency on their healing work. Being able to reach out and receive help is crucial to healing, but equally important is the ability to follow through with good self-care. In the long run, developing and exercising our ability to self-heal will bring the most lasting and significant change.

What do we need to be able to self-heal? Listed below are the “Seven Essentials of Self-Healing”.

Seven Essentials of Self-Healing

1. self-awareness — including awareness of our bodies, emotions, thought patterns, and the spiritual dimension of ourselves
2. knowledge — including knowledge of our body; the role that our emotions and beliefs play in the functioning of our bodies; and of ways to bring greater health to all these levels of our being
3. motivation — a strong enough desire to have greater health and well-being to motivate us to take action
4. self-love — the ability receive and to care for ourselves with kindness
5. courage — the courage to move out of our comfort zone and experience the feelings we have as we change
6. self-authority (or self-responsibility) — being responsible for our own decisions regarding our self-care as opposed to relying solely on the opinion of authorities
7. self-care — taking practical steps to heal is essential, but without the first six essentials we won’t do this in an effective, consistent way

Usually we start with essential #7, self-care, putting the cart before the horse. There are tons of wonderful self-care techniques available. The challenge is finding which ones will work for your situation, and actually putting them to use. Without the other six essentials, significant self-healing cannot really happen. We need to develop those in order to find the right methods of self-care, use them consistently and use them in a manner which is truly healing. A good healer will help you to develop those six essentials. As you become more established in them, you will grow in your ability for self-care and become more and more self-sufficient in your healing journey.

The single most important essential for self-healing is self-love. Everything else grows out of the ability to regard ourselves with compassion and treat ourselves with kindness. With all healing techniques, it’s not so much what you do but how you do it that counts. If you eat healthy foods, but are not enjoying them, your body will not utilize all the nourishment they contain. Perhaps you are thinking about vitamins, minerals or calorie count as you eat and are lost in a mental world rather than savoring the taste and enjoying the sensual experience of eating. Perhaps you’ve started stretching, but rather than enjoy the pleasurable sensations in your body as you stretch, you are all caught up in how far you can go. The result is that you strain and force your body rather than nurturing it. Are your self-care endeavors fear-based? Are you straining or forcing yourself in some way? Or are you genuinely enjoying your self-care activities as you feel yourself nurturing your body, mind and spirit? Above all, self-care has to be done gently, with love.

2. Introduction to Energy Healing

Energy healing promotes healing by enhancing energy flow and correcting disturbances in the “human energy field” or “aura” which permeates and surrounds the body. Improving the flow of energy in the energy field supports the self-healing capacity of the body.

Currently, there is a kind of revival of ancient understandings about energy healing in the light of modern science. “Laying on of hands”, which appeared in many times and cultures, is being rediscovered and formulated into healing techniques which are accessible to people in the present time. There are also more and more people who are spontaneously becoming aware of healing “gifts”.

Since everything is energy, all healing ultimately involves energy. Most healing methods are focused on the physical, mental and emotional levels of life, without recognition of the deeper underlying energy. Energy healing works purely with the energetic level of our being. Since everything is made up of patterns of energy, working directly with energy influences the physical, mental and emotional, as well as the spiritual level. Energy healing is thus by nature “holistic”.

If there is an illness or disturbance in the body, mind or emotions, we certainly want to address those levels. Energy healing, however, complements and supports other methods of healing, because it addresses the energy of which the body, mind and emotions are composed. (For more, read the Basic Principles of Energy Healing or Types of Energy Healing.)

Learn Energy Healing from a CD. We have created a CD which teaches you to sense energy, activate the healing energy in your hands, and give a hands-on Chakra Balancing.

The Human Energy Grid

Just as we have a physical anatomy, we have also have an “energy anatomy”. The human energy field or “aura” surrounds and permeates the physical body. The physical body could be thought of as the most dense expression of the energy, and as only one of a number of bodies which comprise our energy anatomy. We also have “subtle bodies”, which are sometimes referred to as the emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.

There are a variety of descriptions and images of the energy field from both ancient and modern sources. There are variations in these models, but many describe the aura as being in layers. Many, though not all, emphasize the importance of the chakras which are energy centers where important exchanges of energy take place. Energy healing effects change by positively influencing the energy field.

Energy healing is part of the larger field of “Energy Medicine”. Use of herbs, crystals or sound are examples of energy medicine in that they contain “vibratory patterns” which influence the energetic patterns at work in the physiology. Energy healing is a unique part of energy medicine in that it involves the conscious use of the energy field of the healer to affect the energy field of the “healee”. Some energy healers may employ crystals or other tools, but more often it is simply the interaction of healer and healee on an energetic level which directs the work. (Excellent references on energy medicine are Richard Gerber’s Vibrational Medicine and James Oschman’sEnergy Medicine.)

3. Basic Principles of Energy Healing

Listed below are some principles common to all energy healing. To read about how various systems differ, read Types of Energy Healing.

  • Everything is energy.
  • We are energetic beings.
  • Energy follows thought.
  • Universal life energy can be directed through the hands to facilitate healing.
  • Our attention is a like a beam of energy and affects whatever it is focused on, hence energy healing does not have to be hands-on.
  • We have an energy anatomy just as we have a physical anatomy
  • The physical body can be considered the densest expression of the human energy field.
  • Changes in the human energy field are expressed in the body in the course of time.
  • Greater coherence, flow and balance in the human energy field can facilitate healing.
  • Free flow of energy is essential to health and well-being.
  • An individual with greater coherence in the energy field can positively affect the energy field of someone whose field is less coherent.
  • The energy healer is able to enhance his/her own energy field sufficiently to positively affect the energy field of the healee.
  • Becoming centered and thus creating greater coherence in our energy field not only promotes self-healing but is the basis of using our energy field to support the healing of another.
  • The healer can influence the energy field of the healee in a variety of ways – through the medium of the hands, attention, and use of his/her own energy field. A kind of resonance takes place between the two fields, set in motion by mutual intention.
  • Various models depict the energy field as being in layers, which include layers which support the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of life.
  • Energy is the common denominator in all levels of human life; therefore energy healing is automatically holistic.
  • Energy healing involves one or more of the following:
  • Increasing the energy available to be used for healing,
  • Facilitating the smooth flow of energy throughout the energy field through removal of blocks or congestion,
  • Altering the quantity and/or quality of energy in various parts of the energy field,
  • Creating greater symmetry and balance in the energy field, and/or
  • Restructuring the energy field.

4. Types of Energy Healing

Basic Principles of Energy Healing lists principles of energy healing which are common to all types of energy healing. On this page, we discuss how systems differ.  Various modalities have different philosophies, types of training, techniques used, models of the energy field and types of energy addressed.

How Systems Differ

Many forms of energy healing therapies already exist, and more are being developed all the time. The field of energy healing or “energy work” has a very wide range of programs and focuses. This is partly due to the fact that healers have a wide variety of backgrounds and natural gifts. Everyone has a different “energetic makeup”, and healing will be expressed differently through different people. When a healer starts to teach others, different techniques, structures and methods of teaching emerge.

Traditionally, healing was learned in an apprenticeship. Many people today still learn healing through an apprenticeship with an experienced healer. There are now, however, many programs which have been developed with a standardized kind of method or curriculum, so that the training does not necessarily occur with the originator of the program. Each way of learning has its value.

Standardized programs allow for large numbers of people to be trained in a particular style, which can create a pool of healers using the same technique for the sake of research. With a large group of people involved, organizations can be formed for development of standards of practice, study and certification of healers. A successful program can lead to public recognition and education about energy therapy. Those trained in a particular method are brought into association with others who speak a common language.

There are advantages also to learning as an apprentice. Study in an apprenticeship involves a one-to-one relationship with the teacher allowing for a depth of learning that may not be possible in a standardized curriculum. The learning can be tailored to the apprentice’s specific strengths and weaknesses, and can take into account the apprentice’s unique gifts. This can create a greater opportunity for intuitive development. An apprenticeship also allows the student to come into more intimate contact with and knowledge of the healer/teacher’s work.

Some energy healing programs emerged from a more spiritual tradition, and some were born from a more scientific approach. Often they have more in common than they differ, despite the theoretical underpinnings. Even those which evolved within the nursing profession with a strong scientific base, such as Healing Touch and Therapeutic Touch, include reference to the spiritual levels of life. Most programs recognize “spiritual layers” of the energy field. Energy healing actually provides an arena where science and spirituality clearly meet.

Some energy healing systems have been created by healers with backgrounds in conventional medicine. These programs have a structure and language which makes them easy to integrate into the conventional medical system. There are also energy healing programs which have little to do with the conventional medical system, and may even have a very different focus, such as a focus on spiritual development or planetary healing.

A very obvious difference between programs is the actual techniques which are used. Many programs use similar techniques, while some are quite unique. The Basic Principles of Energy Healing describes the essential principles of how energy healing works and what the techniques do, but the mechanics and form of the techniques themselves can differ considerably. Techniques which involve the use of the hands are the most easy to recognize and describe as they involve actual positions and movements which can be seen. Energy healing can be accomplished through many avenues, however.  Since it always involves the interaction of the energy field of the healer and healee, the work can be done without the use of hands.

In a sense, techniques are the most superficial aspect of an energy healing training. The development of consciousness and qualities of presence of the healer, as well as the healer’s energy field as an instrument of healing, is more essential and cannot be captured in the description of a technique. Energy healing programs will usually include specific techniques, but also training which develops the basic capacities of the healer.

Some programs include “attunements”. Reiki, which is probably the most common form of energy healing, has attunements as part of its training. Attunements are meant to open the student to healing energies, increase alignment with the “universal mind” and make touch more potent.

While some people feel receiving attunements has been a vital part of developing the capacity to heal, many people achieve equally satisfactory results without ever receiving any kind of formal attunement. The majority of programs do not involve attunements, but there will be some sort of process in the training which helps a person to increase sensitivity to energies and open up to greater energetic flow and higher energetic “vibrations”. This may simply happen as one automatically “resonates” with the energy field of the teacher, or it may be facilitated by meditative processes which enable one to enter a more centered and receptive state. Learning in a group setting amplifies the energy of individuals, and there a innumerable other ways that the expansion of healing capacity can occur.

Most programs make reference to some sort of universal life energy which has been recognized in various cultures and traditions throughout time as “chi”, “prana”, shakti, etc. “Reiki”, in fact, is often translated as “universal life energy”. Energy healing commonly involves increasing the flow and quantity of energy. Although this is an important part of energy healing, it is only one aspect. What occurs is actually a lot more complex, and hasn’t been fully understood or described by anyone at this time.

What can be said is that energy healing does not involve just one kind of energy or energetic frequency. The writings of Alice Bailey describe a number of energies which comprise the energy field, and two major categories of healing – “magnetic” in which “prana” (defined as “vital planetary fluid) is channeled through the hands and “radiatory” which involves a radiation of “soul energy”. This is only one example of the many kinds of energy which may be involved in healing. Different programs may involve both different energetic “qualities” or “frequencies” as well as varying techniques for using them in the service of healing.

Note:  In addition, energy healing is not just a matter of increasing quantity and flow of energy.  It can also involve balancing energies, which in some cases may be decreasing the energy in some areas of the energy field while increasing it in others.  It can also involve re-patterning the flow of energy, as energy does flow in specific patterns and these can be enhanced or restructured.  Various models have been proposed to describe the structure of the energy field (read below).

Programs may have completely different models of the energy field with which they work. Many programs use depictions of the energy field which have had a long history, such as the chakra system. Others descriptions of the energy field have evolved more recently. Barbara Brennan’s elaborate description of the human energy field in Hands of Light has been adopted by many healers. Her model combines ancient understandings with her own observations.

There are many other descriptions which are highly unique and it is possible some represent structures of the field which are newly coming into being as a result of evolution or which are simply not observed by most people due to the limitations of their perceptions. (It requires development of the observer’s energy field to form a basis for what is observed!) Peggy DuBro, founder of EMF balancing, for example, describes a grid of energies which is unique.

Although not formally an energy healing program, the work of Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer (in the Awakening Your Lightbody course), works with “vibrational energy body” and “lightbody” centers which are described as being more subtle than, and in a sense underlying, the functioning of the chakras. Working with these centers does evoke a higher vibratory quality and seems to create coherence in the field more readily than working with the chakras. Some programs make reference to higher, newer frequencies that are becoming revealed or structured in the human energy field as well as that of the planet itself.

The qualities of the energy field of the healer will add a lot of variation to the actual effect of any particular healing, as there is much that is not accounted for by the models described in different healing programs.

Modalities and programs vary in terms of which aspects of the energy field are addressed. Different techniques may be directed to different aspects of the energy anatomy, for example, meridians, chakras, various layers of the field. The healing may work with any of the following.

  • Meridians
  • Chakras — major and minor, as traditionally described
  • Chakras — those which are “newly emerging” or being discovered
  • “Etheric” (often said to be the first layer of the field, like an energetic blueprint)
  • Emotional energy body
  • Mental energy body
  • Astral layer (defined differently by various healers)
  • Causal body
  • Spiritual layers of energy field — specifically the following 3 named by Barbara Brennan in Hands of Light:
  • 5th layer – “etheric template”
  • 6th layer – “celestial”
  • 7th layer – “ketheric template”
  • Lightbody and vibrational energy bodies as described by Packer and Roman
  • Universal calibration lattice as described by Dubro
  • Various other models associated with diverse techniques

5. Human Energy Field (Aura)

nadis, chakras, subtle bodies…

The “aura” or “human energy field” is a field of energy which surrounds and penetrates the body. The aura underlies and supports the functioning of the body. Contained within the aura are the energetic aspects of every structure and function of the body, as well as everything that we experience (physical sensations, thoughts, feelings, states of consciousness, etc.)

Energy flows through the energy field through fine channels, or nadis, which are themselves composed of energy. Where many nadis cross, energy centers (or “chakras”) are formed. As major “hubs” of energy distribution, the chakras direct the energy which vitalizes the nerves and glands and ultimately all of the structures of the body. Models of the energy field describe layers or subtle energy bodies in its structure.

It is through the energy field that we are connected with everyone and everything else that exists. Some discussions of the energy field involve energies associated with the body which have actually been measured (see Oschman, James L., Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis). Our discussion involves aspects of the energy field which are more subtle, most of which have not been detected by scientific instruments.

How do we know the human energy field exists?

Knowledge of the human energy field comes from ancient texts and metaphysical literature, as well as what is observed through “high sense perception”. High sense perception is a term coined by Barbara Brennan to refer to the phenomena of “clairvoyance” — the ability to see that which lies beyond the reach of physical sight. The human energy field can be perceived in a number of different ways by use of what could be considered to be more subtle aspects of the 5 senses. Clairvoyance or “subtle sight” is only one way. People who are sensitive to the energy field may also hear it (clairaudience), sense it kinesthetically (clairsentience) or even have experiences of subtle smell and taste. Different people sense it in different ways, although some feel that everyone is capable of developing all types of subtle sense perception. It is also possible to have knowledge of the state of the energy field through use of intuition — a kind of “knowingness”.

Many possible models

Those who are able to perceive the aura have attempted to describe it through models which represent the structure of the aura. Not everyone perceives the aura in the same way, hence there are a variety of different models of the human energy field. These models all have some value, but are by no means the only way of describing the aura. Models which are three-dimensional are limited in their ability to capture the complexity and subtlety of the phenomena they attempt to describe.

It is important to remember that these are only “models” — attempts to create three dimensional representations of subtle patterns of energy. Just as atomic and sub-atomic particles do not have the well-defined structures and boundaries of the body, the “subtle energy bodies” of the aura are not like the well-defined structures of the physical body. Instead they are patterns of energy which are dynamic, fluid and interpenetrating. The subtler the energy which is being sensed, the less “localized” it is, and thus the more difficult to describe by a three dimensional model

Why models differ

There are many ways of accounting for the differences in descriptions of the human energy field. Certainly the varying capacities of the observers, and the particular frequencies of energy and structures they are capable of perceiving plays a major role. Auras may also differ widely from individual to individual depending on their particular “energetic makeup” and state of development. The aura of one person may be very different from that of another. Some sources assert that human beings are evolving and that this is reflected in development of the aura. In addition, different people might describe the same phenomena with different models.

Healers may need to create their own models

For those who are developing the capacity to sense energy, it is important to stay open to what is being experienced independent of existing models. Healers may work with models which are quite unique, but work well in terms of their healing style. Models also have a value in healer’s attempts to communicate with clients about the nature of the healing taking place.

6. Aura Models (Vedic Five Koshas)

Vedic Tradition of India — The Five Koshas

The five koshas, or layers, of the human energy field from the perspective of the Vedic tradition of India are:

Physical body – Annamaya kosha

Anna means food. The outermost of the koshas is called the sheath of food, or Annamaya kosha. This layer is the physical body.

Energy body – Pranamaya kosha – subtle breath, life force

Prana means energy. It is the life force that moves the breath, supports the function of the senses and animates the body.

Mental body – Manamaya kosha – the mind

Mana means mind. In this body the thoughts and emotions are processed. It controls the operation of the physical body through the energy body. To function in the most life supporting way, it needs to be informed by the wisdom body where intuition resides.

Wisdom body – Vijnanamaya kosha – ego, intellect and intuition

Vijnana means knowing. This kosha underlies the processing, thinking aspect of the mental body. It evaluates, discriminating between this and that, useful and not useful.

Bliss body – Anandamaya kosha

Ananda means bliss. The bliss body is the innermost layer of our existence as humans, the most subtle manifestation of consciousness. Ananda is not the intense happiness we may call bliss that is experienced in the mental body. It is a more subtle, transcendent experience.

7. Nadis

Energy moves through the aura through millions of tiny streams of energy called “nadis”. (Nadi is a Sanskrit word from the root “nad” meaning movement.) The nadis are an intricate and extensive network of fluid energies, and are involved in absolutely every structure and activity of the human body. They underlie the functioning of the nervous system.

Nadis are actually composed of “planetary prana”, but other energies flow through them as well. They are the transmitters of many different types of energies coming from many sources. The energies are fused and blended as they come into the nadis, but then find their own focal points within the etheric body when they come into the dense physical body. The different types of energy go to the areas of the body where they are needed. This is the basis of healers saying that the “energy has its own intelligence and goes where it needs to” during energy healing. The nadis carry energy throughout the energy field in various patterns which, in essence, form an “energy anatomy”.

Two major features of this energy anatomy are “chakras” and “subtle energy bodies” (also called “auric shells” or “layers”). The chakras are formed at points where many nadis intersect. They are centers for the distribution of energy, and the subtle energy bodies are a series of interpenetrating fields which are structured of different kinds and frequencies of energy. The subtle energy bodies include energetic expressions of the body, mind and emotions, as well as spiritual energies.

8. Healing Touch

On the Healing Touch program founded by nurse-healer, Janet Mentgen, RN

What is Healing Touch?

Touch in and of itself is healing. The phrase “healing touch” is commonly used. There is, however, a very specific program of energy healing named Healing Touch. Healing Touch is an energy-based therapy. By the gentle placing of hands on or near the body, the flow of energy can be re-directed, promoting a feeling of deep relaxation. Its goal is to restore the body’s natural flow of energy, thus facilitating self-healing.

Healing Touch is complementary to other health care modalities. Developed within the nursing profession, this program lends itself to integration with conventional medical settings.

Background and Description

The Healing Touch program grew out of the work and teaching of nurse-healer, Janet Mentgen, who taught the first official Healing Touch course in 1989. The program she developed is partly based on her interpretation of the healing philosophies and methods of well-known healers, such as Alice Bailey, Dr. Brugh Joy, Barbara Brennan, and Rosalyn Bruyere. It also includes techniques of lesser known healers, as well as insights and techniques discovered by Mentgen and her nursing colleagues.

Healing Touch is taught in five levels, and for those who wish to complete the program, can lead to becoming a Healing Touch Practitioner. In addition, those who wish to demonstrate their competence in the program can complete special requirements and get certified through Healing Touch International. The program is taught globally with a standardized curriculum, and certification is a rigorous process. Those who wish to become instructors in Healing Touch can complete a sixth level after becoming certified.

9. The Chakras

Chakras are centers of distribution of energy throughout the body. There are seven major centers which govern a multitude of lesser centers throughout the body. Five of the major centers are located along the spine and two in the head. The chakras are not within the dense physical body. They exist in the etheric matter and in the aura, outside the physical body.

Painting by Barry Stevens

Painting by Barry Stevens

Each of the major chakras is associated with a gland and major nerve plexus and governs the area of the physical body in which it is found. By influencing the endocrine system and its hormones, the chakras affect the functioning and structure of the tissues of the body, including the organs. The chakras are also associated with various aspects of our experience on the emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

Structure of the Chakras: “Chakra” is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheels of light”. This is descriptive of the appearance of the chakras which are like vortexes of energy which spin. Each chakra is structured uniquely to receive and transmit the particular qualities of energy which are necessary for the area of functioning governed by the chakra.

The seven major chakras are the “root” or “base” chakra, sacral chakra, solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, brow chakra and crown chakra. The three lower chakras are often described as being related to our functioning as a human being on the “earth plane”. They are controlled by the energies of the planetary physical plane. The chakras above the diaphragm are controlled by the energies of what is called the “cosmic plane”. The upper three chakras, in particular, are involved with the processing of “spiritual” energies. The heart, lying in the middle, is thought to be the connector or transformer which bridges “above and below” or “heaven and earth”. As we progress spiritually, the upper chakras are awakened, producing the expansion and development of the spiritual layers of the aura. The energies of upper and lower chakras are also brought into relationship, transforming each other. The whole chakra system and aura are actually in a state of evolution.

Colors of the Chakras: The chakras are commonly described as having the colors of the rainbow, beginning with red at the root and ending with indigo at the 6th (ajna or brow) chakra. The crown chakra is usually thought to be mostly white light, although some describe it as a light violet hue. There are other systems which describe the chakras as having different colors. The rainbow colors are actually the colors of the chakras at the 2nd, or emotional layer, of the energy field. Since those colors are the brightest, it may be that they dominate in the overall color perceived in a chakra. Also, at this point in time in human evolution, the emotional energy body is very active and this also may account for the popularity of this particular color scheme.

The appearance and structure of the chakras from person to person will vary considerably, depending on:

  • The particular energies which constitute that person’s makeup — there are variations in the basic energetic “constitution” of individuals (ray energies)
  • The point in “evolution” of the person’s chakra system. Chakras can be in various states of “awakening”.
  • The overall health of the energy field. Energy field disturbances can be seen as distortions of the chakras.
  • The current life issues and transitions occurring at a particular time — the chakras can be in a considerable state of flux.

10. The Seven Major Chakras

This page contains a chart of the 7 major chakras, or energy centers, of the body, and the areas of the body and life experience with which they are associated.  These are generalizations, of course, and the functioning of an area associated with a particular chakra is ultimately affected by the interactions of all of the chakras.

This chart is meant only as a jumping off point for further study.  Not everyone agrees on the exact location and functions of the chakras, although most would agree with the glands and parts of the body associated with the various chakras.

There are many excellent discussions of chakras on the web and in books.  Reading these, combined with the investigation of your own experience of the chakras through meditation, observation or participation in energy healing, will help you to develop a familiarity with yourself as an “energetic being”.

It is also important to note that it is possible to help bring the chakras into a greater state of health and balance without a lot of knowledge about them.  We can learn to work with energy simply as energy, without having to know what it is associated with or means.

11. Chakra Balancing

What is Chakra Balancing?  Why Balance the Chakras?  How is it done?

“Chakra Balancing”, like many terms in energy healing, does not have a standardized definition. It is a term which is used very loosely to indicate a procedure that increases the healthy flow of energy through the chakras and therefore through the entire energy field.

A healthier flow of energy through the aura creates greater physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Why balance the chakras? What are the benefits?

The chakras are centers in the human energy field which distribute the energy which supports the functioning of the body, mind and emotions. If there is too much or too little energy flowing through a particular chakra, this will have a negative impact on the functions associated with that chakra (read about the 7 chakras). Chakra balancing helps to bring about an optimal flow of energy through each chakra, and create balance in the sense that energy is more evenly distributed through the chakras.

The chakra system is constantly changing in response to the stresses of life and living. Suppose, for example, that you spend many hours doing mental work during the day. This may cause the chakras associated with the functioning of the mind to become over-stimulated because so much energy has been flowing through them. Your mind may become overactive and make it hard to relax or to sleep at night. Balancing the chakras involved would help the energy to stop flowing so much through the overactive chakras and redistribute it to the other chakras. More energy directed to the root chakra, for example, would help you to feel more grounded and bring more silence into your awareness.

The chakras also evolve as we grow personally and spiritually. At times the chakras are adjusting to the impact of higher frequency energies that are being built into the aura as a result of the process of evolution and practices such as meditation. A change in the quality of energy in any chakra affects all of the other chakras. Some chakras may be overactive or over-stimulated, others may be sluggish or deficient in energy flow. There may be some energetic blocks present, or some distortion in the structure of the chakras themselves.

How can the chakras be balanced?

There are many different ways of balancing the chakras. It can be done through hands-on techniques, meditations, visualizations, exercises, specialized music, as well as methods which employ crystals, aromas, etc. These methods may open the chakras to allow the energy to move through the chakras more freely. They often do this by clearing energy that may be stuck in the chakras (often referred to as “blocks”).  They also can be used to redistribute the energy throughout the energy field so that it is more balanced from chakra to chakra.  Some techniques can help repair the structure of damaged chakras.

12.  Reiki

Reiki is perhaps the most popular and commonly recognized system of energy healing. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “universal life energy”.

Reiki healing is a simple, hands-on energy healing technique which works primarily with the transfer of universal energy to the recipient. It relies on the intelligence of the energy itself to go where it is needed. It also employs the use of symbols to activate the energy for particular purposes. The heart of Reiki consists of “attunements” which the teacher uses to increase the student’s ability to be a conduit for the universal life energy.

The founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui, was a Japanese Zen Buddhist, businessman and scholar born the mid-nineteenth century Japan. He developed a desire to learn how to perform healings. A long search eventually led him to undertake a religious spiritual fast on Mt. Kurama. During this self-imposed retreat, Usui had a revelation which led the development of a system of healing.

Usui’s original teachings have gone through many transformations as they have been passed from teacher to student over the years. When the term “Usui method” is used, it indicates that the teacher feels that they are following the procedures of Dr. Usui, as opposed to teachers who have created or learned variations on the original method. Some teachers claim that their particular teaching is more authentic than others as far as adhering to Usui’s original teaching. There is much controversy, however, about exactly what Usui did teach and whether anyone can really lay claim to teaching the “authentic” method

How Reiki is taught — all courses are not alike!

Reiki was traditionally taught in several stages with an apprenticeship with a Reiki master, but there are now teachers who offer the entire training in one weekend. Those interested in learning Reiki or receiving Reiki need to be aware that all Reiki practitioners and teachers are not alike. Even in energy healing programs with a very standardized curriculum, there will be great variation among practitioners in terms of how they use and express the system. This may be particularly true with Reiki due to the variations in training. (It’s important to note that the term “master” comes from the Japanese use of that word to mean “teacher”. It does not imply mastery of an art. A Reiki master has completed their training and has the ability to teach Reiki to another person.)

Are attunements necessary?  Many people start their energy healing careers with Reiki and it becomes a central part of their work. For some it is an ongoing spiritual and healing path, and they go very deep with it. For those who have already done hands-on energy healing, reports are mixed. Some feel it enhances the ability to conduct healing energy, and some feel it doesn’t add much to their practice. It is certainly not necessary to have attunements in order to be a conduit for healing energies, although in some cases attunement may be useful. Each individual needs to honor what intuitively “draws” them. There is no program of training which is best or right for everyone!

Is Reiki a Religion?  Although Reiki is not a religion and people of many different religious backgrounds practice and receive Reiki, it does have a spiritual foundation which includes the “Reiki precepts” (guidelines for living). The vision in which Dr. Usui received the inspiration for this healing system is often seen as something which was divinely inspired. As a result, certain elements sometimes creep into the teaching and practice of Reiki which are often found in association with religions. Most notably, there are a number of controversies associated with the teaching and practice of Reiki, with various parties feeling that they have the “right” understanding. Most feel that the Reiki symbols should not be revealed to the non-initiated, and many have become quite upset at practitioners who have put the symbols into print. These controversies, however, do not change the fact that more people have started to use their healing abilities through Reiki than through any other system to date. Whatever the nature of Dr. Usui’s inspiration for the development of this program, it has proven to be a useful and beneficial system for many people.

Book Review – The Everything Reiki Book, Phylameana lila Désy, Adams Media, Avon, MA, 2004.
The Everything Reiki Book serves not only as a perfect introduction to Reiki for those who are new to the subject, but a comprehensive handbook for students and practitioners alike. The book is clear, simple and straight-forward, yet contains a depth of understanding and wisdom. It really does cover everything to do with Reiki – just reading through the table of contents reveals the complexity of topics which have become associated with what started out as a very simple teaching. Desy has managed to give a birds-eye view of the whole subject, as well as practical details and down-to-earth advice on every topic covered. She states that Reiki is all about balance, and she demonstrates this perfectly as she deals with various issues in the Reiki community, including controversial ones, with a balanced perspective.

Desy makes it clear what is unique to Reiki as opposed to other energy healing systems. While her deep appreciation and enthusiasm for Reiki are clear, she acknowledges that being able to use universal life energy for healing is not exclusive to Reiki. She even includes a chapter on other energy-based modalities. One can substitute the term “energy healing” for “Reiki” in many places throughout this book and find that the same principles hold true. Thus the book is valuable for students of any energy healing modality. — Mary Maddux, May 11, 2004

13. Kundalini

Kundalini is a Sanskrit word that refers to the potential or latent energy that is located at the base of the spine. According to the Vedic tradition which describes Kundalini, it is a primal feminine energy, called Shakti, which is responsible for all manifestation.

The kundalini rises up the spine through nadis, channels through which subtle energy flows through the human energy field. The primary nadi, called the Sushumna, is a channel which runs up through the spine starting just below the first chakra and going to the crown of the head. There are two other channels which go up the spine, the Ida and Pingala. The Ida, carrying feminine energy is on the left, and the Pingala, carrying masculine energy is on the right. They alternate sides at the chakras as they rise up the spine, as seen in the picture below.

The translation of kundalini is “coiled snake”, the snake being a symbol of the potential untapped energy which is concentrated at the first chakra. This spiritual energy is said to be activated by meditation or breathing practices which causes it to rise upwards to open and activate the chakras (subtle energy centers in the body). As it “rises” up the spine it is said to bring about altered states of consciousness and can enhance one’s spiritual development.

There are many teachers and systems in the East and West that offer programs to awaken kundalini to empower the individual to develop higher states of consciousness. We feel one should proceed with caution in this area because this energy is very powerful and activating it may lead to undesirable results if the teacher is not skilled enough or properly qualified to teach kundalini.

14. Spiritual Healing

Traditionally, spiritual healing is healing in which the healer is felt to be an instrument of the divine, allowing the power of the divine to heal through him or her. The healer acknowledges that he or she does not do the healing. In a sense, the healer is only the instrument through which the person seeking healing surrenders to the divine.

Many healers who do not call themselves “spiritual healers” acknowledge that they do not do the healing – this has become a well understood idea in healing — but to really live that fully is truly radical. Joel Goldsmith’s classic, The Art of Spiritual Healing, provides a taste of what spiritual healing is when lived fully and taken to its full conclusion. A Course in Miracles also embodies this radical perspective.

Energy Healing vs. Spiritual Healing

There is no standard definition for spiritual healing or energy healing and often they are considered to be the same thing. Both terms can refer to widely varying practices, and there are many ways in which they overlap.

Since everything is energy, energy healing can simultaneously affect all levels of life – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Depending on the leanings of the healer and client, an energy healing session can have a spiritual focus and impact. On the other hand, what a spiritual healer does may look exactly the same as what an energy healer does, and can also affect all levels. What, then, would distinguish energy healing from spiritual healing, and vice versa?

An exploration of this question is actually quite complex, and it becomes clear that our current institutions and language do not adequately describe the tremendous variety of emerging healing practices. The understanding that everything is energy points to the impossibility of separating out the spiritual from the material. Energy healing truly bridges the gap between science and spirituality, and yet our institutions are either secular or spiritual. A healer who works purely with energy may may feel more aligned with either the scientific/medical model or a spiritual/religious model.

Spiritual Healing

The key feature which distinguishes spiritual healing, at least in the traditional usage, is that the healer is seen as a vehicle for divine intervention. Many healers, however, also feel that they are divinely guided (regardless of the language used to describe this), and so even this key feature may not serve to distinguish spiritual healers from energy healers. Nevertheless, it could be said that spiritual healing in its purest form relies totally on the intervention of a “higher intelligence” — the healing occurs spontaneously without the healer making conscious choices. Usually a spiritual healer would not use particular techniques which are chosen based on some rationale of what technique works for a particular condition.

Spiritual healing often simply involves the use of prayer. Many miraculous healings occurred during the “miracle services” of renowned evangelist, Kathryn Kuhlman. Kuhlman never touched or even looked at those who received these healings. She didn’t know anything about human anatomy. From her point of view, she simply opened to the Holy Spirit, and had complete faith that all would be accomplished through this. A clairvoyant who observed one of Kuhlman’s services, however, was able to see how her aura flowed out energetically and interacted with the energy fields of those who were healed. This happened with out any specific intention or knowledge on Kuhlman’s part. The spiritual healer would not be able to say how the healing occurred, except to acknowledge divine intervention. The healer may even take the position that he/she sees only divine perfection in the one who seeks healing, and so would not even see disturbance or disease.

Spiritual Healing vs. Spiritism

Sometimes spiritual healing is very specific about the form of the divine which is being accessed for healing. Some spiritual healers refer to their work as coming from God or Source (or some other name for the divine). Others may say that angels and spiritual beings intervene. Yet another group of healers say that “spirits” of powerful healers who are no longer alive work through them. Both Rubens Faria and John of God, famous Brazilian healers, are said to channel spirits. Some would call this “spiritism” rather than true spiritual healing.

Energy Healing

Energy healing, on the other hand, usually involves some conscious use of knowledge of the human energy field, as well as specific techniques to address disturbances. Programs which are based on the medical model will have an assessment of the energy field, and techniques will be chosen that address the disturbances found. After the energy healing is done, the healer would re-assess the field to discover the outcome of the treatment. These programs, however, recognize the importance of intuition and usually allow for intuitive work on the part of the healer. They also include the spiritual aspect of a client’s life in the overall treatment and recognize that the energy field has “spiritual layers”.

Cultural Bias Separates Science and Spirituality

The fact that the question would even arise as to what distinguishes energy healing from spiritual healing points to a cultural bias which separates the scientific from the spiritual. As we grow in our understanding and experience of the one reality which underlies these two seemingly different viewpoints, this separation should be bridged. Most people recognize the necessity of integrating complementary healing arts with our conventional medical system. This integration necessitates the development of a new paradigm which unifies what are often seen as contradictory approaches.

15. Distance Healing

Also called “Remote Healing” or “Distant Healing”

Energy healing can be accomplished at a distance. Prayer is the simplest form of distance healing, and it has been demonstrated that prayer is effective in facilitating healing (see Dossey’s book, Healing Words.)

An energy healer can sense the energy field of the person receiving the healing and provide healing equally effectively if the person is in the same room or across the world.

How does distance healing work?

There are many ways one might understand how distance healing works. Much of our everyday experience involves the transfer of energy over long distances — satellite dishes are just one example. There are energies all about us traveling great distances in short amounts of time such as radio waves. Some have described the “life energy” used by healers as a subtle energy that is “faster than light energy” (Richard Gerber, MD, Vibrational Medicine).

From another viewpoint, it is not necessary for the energy to “travel” anywhere as some models describe the universe as being like a holograph, where the whole is contained in every part. Time and distance are only concepts which help define our reality. The Holographic Universe by Talbot is especially fascinating in this regard.

The laws of nature which describe subtle energies are different than those which describe the physical body. As physics explores deeper and deeper “layers” of the structure of creation, phenomena are less and less “localized”. Some physicists describe a “unified field” which is “non-local”.

This will seem like a very abstract discussion unless one has experienced “altered states of awareness” in which the limitations of time and distance have been transcended. Awareness itself, the field of intelligence and “beingness” in which this whole phenomenal world is contained, is completely non-local. In a more expanded state of awareness, it can be understood intuitively that physical distance is no barrier to a healing interaction. Many have had the experience of a kind of telepathic connection with someone else in which one senses what is happening with the other person. An energy healer doing distance healings can sense the presence of the healee and affect the healee’s energy field through this same kind of “sensing”.

16. Science and Energy Healing

The Latin root of the word “science” can be translated as “having knowledge” or “to know”. Western civilization has developed the scientific method as a means of gaining knowledge, and many believe that it is the only means that can be trusted as reliable and accurate. Nevertheless, there are other ways of gaining knowledge which others would believe to be equally valid.

Everything is “energy”

We know from scientific understanding that everything is composed of energy, and yet the presence of this energetic aspect of ourselves and our surroundings is mostly not acknowledged in our culture. Even seemingly solid objects like a table appear to be solid due to the interpretations of the mind — on an energetic level they are mostly “empty space”. Modern science has made discoveries about the nature of reality that are consistent with the existence of a “human energy field” and the ability to influence healing through manipulation of energy. These discoveries have radical implications on how we view and experience our day to day reality. It takes time for radical new understandings to be absorbed and integrated into our understanding of reality.

Does science validate the existence of a human energy field?

All conclusions in the scientific method must be supported by empirical evidence.  ”Empirical” evidence is based on observation or experiment. Ultimately it relies on that which can be perceived through the senses.  In the west, only five senses — sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell — are considered to exist.  But other cultures (as well as people in the west who have observed things without use of the five senses) believe phenomena can be observed that lie beyond the reach of the five senses.

With regard to the human energy field, those who are able to perceive it through “higher sense perception” have no doubt about its existence. Nevertheless, a Western scientist would refute its existence unless it directly observed or detected through some sort of instrumentation.  ”Seeing is believing” works when everyone is able to see something. For example, if a group of people all perceive a table, the scientist would probably not refute its existence. But the existence of that which cannot be perceived through the five senses (or extensions of the senses through instruments such as microscopes) is assumed to be speculative unless proven by “objective means”.

How can anyone say something really exists and what is a valid way of knowing what exists?  Who can really say whether someone who states they are able to sense energetic information is really sensing something or whether it’s a result of their imagination?  Ultimately we are left to our own judgment of what is real, and more importantly, what kinds of descriptions of reality are valuable to us and point us to practical steps we can take to improve our lives.

What is “higher sense perception”?

Higher sense perception is one of many terms used for the ability to get information in other ways than through the five senses.  Most everyone has heard of the “sixth sense” and the term paranormal.  Although the word intuition can be used much more broadly, it is also a word that refers to gaining knowledge in a way other than through the senses.  Higher sense perception could be thought of as a more subtle functioning of the senses.

How objective is “objective”?

The Western scientist attempts to eliminate subjectivity, using the scientific method to validate theories through objective findings. When investigated deeply, however, the boundary between objective and subjective blurs. Ultimately, it is the scientists subjectivity (or awareness) that ultimately registers the “objective findings” obtained through scientific instruments, and it has been found that the observer affects the object of observation through the act of observing!

Pitfalls for healers and clients

There are, of course, pitfalls for those who do perceive energies. It is very easy for imagination or fantasy to color ones perceptions. Often students of healing ask themselves questions like “did I really see that?” and have to learn to trust their perceptions. On the other hand, a certain amount of skepticism and questioning is important in order to learn to discriminate between imagination and subtle sense perception. While we can verify the presence of a table in the room by the consensus of those who see it, this kind of verification is less frequently available to healers and intuitives.

The fact that there is little objective verification for statements healers might make does give rise to the possibility of their clients being mislead by healers interpretations. It is important to honor ones own intuition above the interpretations of a healer and to examine everything in the light of common sense.  All too often people want the healer to be all-knowing and be able to tell them exactly what is wrong and exactly what to do.  This can lead to accepting the opinion of a healer too readily and suspending ones own intuition and judgment.

“It has taken thousands of years, but within this century both scientists and spiritual seekers alike have once again begun to view the laws of nature and the laws of God as reflections of the same truth.” Rosalyn L. Bruyere

Undoubtedly, few scientists would feel that there is any substantial proof of the existence of the energies with which healers work. There has been research, however, which indicates that energy healing does have an effect. Part 1
Dr. Tullio Simoncini
Baking Soda Treatment to Stop Cancer

Most of us are going to be surprised to find out that there is an oncologist in Rome Italy, Dr. Tullio Simoncini, destroying cancer tumors with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) [1]. Sodium bicarbonate is safe, extremely inexpensive and unstoppably effective when it comes to cancer tissues. It’s an irresistible chemical, cyanide to cancer cells for it hits the cancer cells with a shock wave of alkalinity, which allows much more oxygen into the cancer cells than they can tolerate. Cancer cells cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen. Sodium bicarbonate is, for all intent and purposes, an instant killer of tumors. Full treatment takes only days, as does another cancer treatment that heats the cancer cells with laser generated heat. (At bottom see combining ph shift with heat.)

The extracellular (interstitial) pH (pHe) of solid tumours is significantly more acidic compared to normal tissues [2].

Case one: A patient diagnosed with pulmonary neoplasm of the lung, underwent treatment with sodium bicarbonate, before submitting to surgery to remove part of the lung. Treatment consisted of sodium bicarbonate administered orally, by aerosol, and IV. After first treatment reduction of nodules and absorption was evident, and after 8 months was no longer visible at all. Treatments also reduced size of the liver and results were confirmed by both X-ray and CAT scan.

Studies have shown how manipulation of tumour pH with sodium bicarbonate enhances some forms of chemotherapy [3]. Proteins can be modified both in vivo and in vitro by increases in acidity. In fact pH is the regulatory authority that controls most cellular processes. The pH balance of the human bloodstream is recognized by medical physiology texts as one of the most important biochemical balances in all of human body chemistry. pH is the acronym for “Potential Hydrogen”. In definition, it is the degree of concentration of hydrogen ions in a substance or solution. It is measured on a logarithmic scale from 0 to 14. Higher numbers mean a substance is more alkaline in nature and there is a greater potential for absorbing more hydrogen ions. Lower numbers indicate more acidity with less potential for absorbing hydrogen ions.

Our body pH is very important because pH controls the speed of our body’s biochemical reactions. It does this by controlling the speed of enzyme activity as well as the speed that electricity moves through our body. The higher (more alkaline) the pH of a substance or solution, the more electrical resistance that substance or solution holds. Therefore, electricity travels slower with higher pH. If we say something has an acid pH, we are saying it is hot and fast. Alkaline pH on the other hand, biochemically speaking, is slow and cool.

Cancer tissues have a much higher concentration of toxic chemicals, pesticides, etc then do healthy tissues.

In 1973, a study conducted by the Department of Occupational Health at Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem found that when cancerous breast tissue is compared with non-cancerous tissue from elsewhere in the same woman’s body, the concentration of toxic chemicals such as DDT and PCBs was “much increased in the malignant tissue compared to the normal breast and adjacent adipose tissue” [4]. This should say something to the oncologists of the world about chemical etiologies that are going undiagnosed and untreated.

Part of any successful cancer treatment includes chelation and detoxification of heavy metals and a host of toxic chemicals, which are all invading our bodies’ everyday. It is literally raining mercury, uranium contamination is increasing, lead we are discovering is even more toxic than anyone ever believed and is even in the bread that we eat, arsenic is in our chicken, the government still wants you to get your yearly mercury flu shot, dentists of course are still using hundreds of tons of mercury exposing patients to internalized toxic waste dumps (mercury vapors from hell), fluoride is still put in the water and chlorine is breathed in most showers. This just covers a small slice of the toxic disaster that is the hallmark of life in the 21st century. But oncologists have just not been able to understand that cancer patients are suffering from poisoning on a massive scale with all the chemicals scientists have already established cause cancer.

The IMVA recommends alkaline foods and sodium bicarbonate so that the pH of the blood remains high, which in turn means that the blood is capable of carrying more oxygen. This in turn keeps every cell in the body at peak efficiency and helps the cell eliminate waste products. Detoxification and chelation will proceed more easily and safely under slightly alkaline conditions. Increased urinary pH reduces oxidative injury in the kidney so it behooves us to work clinically with bicarbonate.

Patients receiving sodium bicarbonate achieved urine pHs of 6.5 as opposed to 5.6 with those receiving sodium chloride.
This alkalinization is theorized to have a protective effect against the formation of free-radicals that may cause nephropathy [5]. Dr. Michael Metro

Body ph level changes are intense in the profundity of their biological effects. Even genes directly experience external pH. pH differentially regulates a large number of proteins. Increased oxidative stress, which correlates almost exponentially with ph changes into the acidic, is especially dangerous to the mitochondria, which suffer the greatest under oxidative duress. Epigenetics, which may now have begun eclipsing traditional genetics, commonly describes how factors such as diet and smoking, rather than inheritance influence how genes behave.

The great advantage of knowing the prime cause of a disease is that it can then be attacked logically and over a broad front. Dr. Otto Warburg

Dr. Otto Warburg, two times Nobel Prize winner, stated in his book, The Metabolism of Tumors that the primary cause of cancer was the replacement of oxygen in the respiratory cell chemistry by the fermentation of sugar. The growth of cancer cells is initiated by a fermentation process, which can be triggered only in the absence of oxygen at the cell level. What Warburg was describing was a classic picture of acidic conditions. Just like overworked muscle cells manufacture lactic acid by-products as waste, cancerous cells spill lactic acid and other acidic compounds causing acid pH.

After we just saw how important sulfur is in human health and how useful a basic chemical like sodium thiosulfate can be, we now get a crash course in the power of sodium bicarbonate and the act of instantly turning cancer cells alkaline. Might as well shoot a guided cruise missile at them – so effective, safe, quick and precise is sodium bicarbonate, inexpensive as well. Just a few pennies a day of it will keep cancer further away, keeping it at arms length from ourselves, patients and loved ones. It is something we can use to treat our water with as well, excellent to put in distilled or reverse osmosis water or any water for that matter.

A true understanding of cancer is impossible without understanding why some tissues in the body are deficient in oxygen and therefore prone to cancer. Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water (H2O) decomposes into H+ and OH-. When a solution contains more H+ than OH- then it is said to be acid. When it contains more OH- than H+ then it is said to be alkaline. When oxygen enters an acid solution it can combine with H+ ions to form water. Oxygen helps to neutralize the acid, while at the same time the acid prevents oxygen from reaching the tissues that need it. Acidic tissues are devoid of free oxygen. An alkaline solution is just the reverse. Two hydroxyl ions (OH-) can combine to produce one water molecule and one oxygen atom. In other words, an alkaline solution can provide oxygen to the tissues.

The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. The blood, lymph and cerebral spinal fluid in the human body are designed to be slightly alkaline at a pH of 7.4.

At a pH slightly above 7.4 cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancer cells will die while healthy cells will live. This has given rise to a variety of treatments based on increasing the alkalinity of the tissues such as vegetarian diet, the drinking of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, and dietary supplementation with alkaline minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, cesium and rubidium. But nothing can compare to the instant alkalinizing power of sodium bicarbonate for safe and effective treatment of cancer.

Like magnesium chloride or sulfates are excellent emergency medicines, basic chemicals, nutritional in nature, sodium bicarbonate is a nutritional medicine meaning it cannot and will not end up controlled by CODEX. To control bicarbonate they would have to demand mothers stop making cake with it. We might thus identify sodium bicarbonate as an emergency medicine for cancer with the above supporting approaches working on broader levels to help overall physiology change to a degree where body chemistry is unfavorable for new cancer growth.

Cancer seems to grow slowly in a highly acid environment (because the acids cause it to partially destroy itself) and may actually grow more quickly as your body becomes more alkaline prior to reaching the healthy pH slightly above 7.4 where the cancer becomes dormant. Therefore it is important to get pH above 7.4 quickly. Once one has achieved a pH above 7.4, it is useful to monitor saliva pH regularly to ensure that the body remains sufficiently alkaline.

Earlier and more frequent use of sodium bicarbonate was associated with higher early resuscitability rates and with better long-term neurological outcome. Sodium bicarbonate is beneficial during CPR [6].

“The therapeutic treatment of bicarbonate salts can be administered orally, through aerosol, intravenously and through catheter for direct targeting of tumors.” All of Dr. Tullio Simoncini’s treatments with sodium bicarbonate are directed as specifically as possible to the organs involved, for example, vaginally as well as abdominally into the peritoneal space for cervical cancer, through the hepatic artery for liver cancer in order to get the solution as close to the affected area as possible. Sodium bicarbonate administered orally, via aerosol or intravenously can achieve positive results in most tumors, including the brain, while others, such as the serious ones of the bones can remain unaffected. Dr. Simoncini, with the help of interventionist radiologists was able to reach those areas of the body that had previously been inaccessible. This was achieved through positioning appropriate catheters either in cavities for peritoneum and pleura, or in arteries to reach other organs [7].

The most effective measure to treat RT-induced mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer is frequent oral rinsing with a sodium bicarbonate rinse, to reduce the amount of oral microbial flora [8].

Case two: A nine-year-old child is hospitalized and diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma on the right humerus. Despite several chemotherapy cycles surgery removed the humeral bone. Growth of three tumor masses continued despite continued efforts to stop progression. Sodium bicarbonate salts treatment were then started administered by catheter into the right sub-clavian artery in order to administer the salts (phleboclysis of 500 cc at five per cent) directly on the tumoral masses.

Of the 3 masses shown by the scographic scan of May 7, 2001, whose size is respectively:
a. 6.5 cm
b. 4.4 cm
c. 2.4 cm

After the sodium bicarbonate salts treatment only one tumor was left, with a size of only 1.5 cm, which is most likely residual scarring, as shown by the echography of September 10, 2001.

Sodium bicarbonate injection is also indicated in the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may occur in severe renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes, and circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration, extracorporeal circulation of blood, cardiac arrest and severe primary lactic acidosis. Sodium bicarbonate is further indicated in the treatment of drug intoxications, including barbiturates. Sodium carbonate has been found effective in treating poisoning or overdose from many chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs by negating the cardiotoxic and neurotoxic effects [9]. Sodium bicarbonate is useful in treating neurological disorders in children.

Knowledge of sodium bicarbonate is important for parents because the rate of childhood cancer is growing exponentially. But parents who resist the radiation burning, cutting and the lethal chemicals are regularly hauled before the courts only to have their children taken away from them. Oncologists are increasingly resorting to the justice system to have children made wards of the courts who then turn them over to medically irresponsible practitioners. It is inexcusable separating a child from his mother and father in the middle of a medical crisis. Adding to the stress by tormenting patients’ hearts and souls has nothing to do with safe or effective medicine. The naked truth is doctors and medical institutions have not earned the necessary trust for this level of intervention in people’s lives. With patient safety slipping year by year [10] children are not safe in hospitals, much less so if forced at gunpoint from their parents embrace.

An extremely simple therapy used by physicians who treat autism is to supply a mild antidote that neutralizes the excess acids. The most convenient product is a nonprescription drug called AlkaSeltzer Gold™. Do not use any other kind of AlkaSeltzer™. AlkaSeltzer Gold™ is simply a very safe product (sodium and potassium bicarbonate) that helps to neutralize excess acids of any kind. Dr. William Shaw on Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD

One mother wrote, “It worked so well for both of my children that the die-off was an uneventful experience, even though they both had very high levels of yeast.” The restoring of acid/alkaline balance also relieves many allergies. “These children also had grave disturbances in electrolyte chemistry, and tended to be acidotic (low CO). The data that unfolded was fascinating and clearly earmarked the acidosis and hypoxic state (low serum bicarbonate = low O2 levels). Potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium carbonate and the like were used. Now we began to understand why so many children responded to Buffered C (potassium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate), and others needed a more specific buffer (in some children for example niacin was grossly depleted and they required niacin bicarbonate),” wrote Patricia Kane.

The acid/alkaline balance is one of the most overlooked aspects of health, though many have written much about it. In general, the American public is heavily acid, excepting vegetarians.

Case three: A 62-year-old patient undergoes surgery in December 1998 for endometrial adenocarcinoma, followed by successive cycles of radiotherapy and anti-hormone therapy. Following the thickening of the peritoneum and the growth of several lymph nodes due to carcinosis; from the clinical point of view, the patient’s condition decayed with the presence of exhaustion, general swelling, intestinal meteorism, irregularity of evacuation, steady feeling of heaviness and blood pressure instability. Treatment with a 5% sodium bicarbonate solution administered alternately thru an endoperitoneal catheter and via IV showed rapid improvement to a normal condition of health. A final CAT scan confirms the regression of the peritoneal carcinosis and a stabilization of the size of the lymph nodes when compared to the preceding year.

The kidneys are usually the first organs to show chemical damage upon uranium exposure, military manuals suggest doses or infusions of sodium bicarbonate to help alkalinize the urine if this happens. This makes the uranyl ion less kidney-toxic and promotes excretion of the nontoxic uranium-carbonate complex. The oral administration of sodium bicarbonate diminishes the severity of the changes produced by uranium in the kidneys [11].

Case four: A 40-year-old patient underwent surgical intervention (left radical mastectomy) for mammarian carcinoma seven months earlier. After three months of chemotherapy, the patient is affected by: “diffused pulmonary and hepatic metastasis; bone metastasis particularly to the fifth and sixth lumbar vertebrae, with invasion and compression of the medullar channel, which is causing extreme pain which makes the patient unresponsive to any treatment.” All pain suppressant drugs – morphine included – are totally ineffective and the patient is totally prostrate even unable to sleep. Believing that fungal colonies amassed in the medullar channel will respond to administration of sodium bicarbonate salts, lumbar injections are begun.

Dr Tullio Simoncini recounts: “As I administer it by slowly injecting 50 cc of sodium bicarbonate solution at 8.4 %, the patient tosses and with a thread of a voice confesses to me that she has slept only two hours in the last week. Exhausted, she whispers to me: “If only I could sleep half an hour tonight.” But the day after, she calls me on the phone and says: “I have slept all night”. After two more lumbar injections of the bicarbonate salts in the next month, the pain disappeared completely. Magnetic Resonance imaging reports performed before and after treatment were defined by hospital head of the radiology department as “shocking.”

Sodium bicarbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is commonly used as an antacid for short-term relief of stomach upset, to correct acidosis in kidney disorders, to make the urine alkaline during bladder infections and to minimize uric acid crystallization during gout treatment. Prescription sodium bicarbonate products are given by injection to treat metabolic acidosis and some drug intoxications. Sodium bicarbonate is available as a nonprescription medical as well as a general house hold item. It is also used with other non-prescription drugs for short-term treatment of various conditions to treat anything from fever to moderate pain.

Sodium bicarbonate possesses the property of absorbing heavy metals, dioxins and furans. Comparison of cancer tissue with healthy tissue from the same person shows that the cancer tissue has a much higher concentration of toxic chemicals, pesticides, etc.

Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes acids present in gases (in particular hydrochloric acid, suphur dioxide, hydrofluoric acid) to form sodium salts (sodium chloride, sodium sulphate, sodium fluoride, sodium carbonate), which are all known as Residual Sodium Chemicals. Sodium bicarbonate can be made into a paste salve with vinegar, it relieves burning from bug stings (particularly bee stings), poison ivy, nettles, and sunburn. It is used as an antacid to treat acid indigestion and heartburn. Mixed with water in a 10% solution can soften earwax for removal.

Substituting a sodium bicarbonate solution for saline infusion prior to administration of radiocontrast material seems to reduce the incidence of nephropathy [12]. Dr. Thomas P. Kennedy American Medical Association

Because sodium bicarbonate has long been known and is widely used, it has many other names including sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium bicarb, baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda, bicarb soda, saleratus or bicarbonate of soda. It is soluble in water. This white solid is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slight alkaline taste resembling that of sodium carbonate. It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs. It is also produced artificially. World wide production is on the scale of 100,000 ton/year. Sodium bicarbonate is primarily used in cooking (baking) where it reacts with other components to release carbon dioxide, that helps dough “rise.”

It is commonly used to increase the pH and total alkalinity of the water for pools and spas. Sodium bicarbonate can be added as a simple solution for restoring the pH balance of water that has a high level of chlorine. It is sometimes used in septic tanks to control pH and bacteria.

Sodium bicarbonate-rich mineral water in conjunction with a low-salt diet may have a beneficial effect on calcium homeostasis [13].

Distilled water is not safe, it lacks bicarbonates and minerals and yes, it is acid forming to the body. Yet it is an excellent aid in detoxification and chelation for its purity pulls on toxicities in the body. Part of the reason why our body is acid is that it lacks enough bicarbonate necessary to neutralize the acid. Whenever the water lacks the proper bicarbonates to neutralize the water in distilled water your body basically becomes a little more acid. But we can easily treat distilled or reverse osmosis water by adding bicarbonate and magnesium and perhaps even some sodium thiosulfate. (The art and science of water treatment will be covered in The Waters of Life, another IMVA publication due out later this year. The conscious use of water favorably increases medical outcomes, often it even determines the prognosis. You cannot separate out hydration from pH. Dehydration would certainly push the body toward acidity.)

pH of the blood is the most important factor to determine the state of the microorganisms in the blood.

The native chemical and physical properties of sodium bicarbonate account for its wide range of applications, including cleaning, deodorizing, buffering, and fire extinguishing. Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes odors chemically, rather than masking or absorbing them. Consequently, it is used in bath salts and deodorant body powders. Sodium bicarbonate tends to maintain a pH of 8.1 (7 is neutral) even when acids, which lower pH, or bases, which raise pH, are added to the solution. Its ability to tabletize makes it a good effervescent ingredient in antacids and denture cleaning products. Sodium bicarbonate is also found in some anti-plaque mouthwash products and toothpaste.

Sodium bicarbonate also is indicated in severe diarrhea which is often accompanied by a significant loss of bicarbonate. Vigorous bicarbonate therapy is required in any form of metabolic acidosis where a rapid increase in plasma total CO2 content is crucial e.g. cardiac arrest, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration , and in severe primary lactic acidosis or severe diabetic acidosis.

Sodium Bicarbonate Injection, USP is administered by the intravenous route. In cardiac arrest, a rapid intravenous dose of one to two 50 mL vials (44.6 to 100 mEq) may be given initially and continued at a rate of 50 mL (44.6 to 50 mEq) every 5 to 10 minutes if necessary (as indicated by arterial pH and blood gas monitoring) to reverse the acidosis. Caution should be observed in emergencies where very rapid infusion of large quantities of bicarbonate is indicated. Bicarbonate solutions are hypertonic and may produce an undesirable rise in plasma sodium concentration in the process. of correcting the metabolic acidosis. In cardiac arrest, however, the risks from acidosis exceed those of hypernatremia.

In the current system, if a promising compound can’t be patented, it is highly unlikely ever to make it to market, no matter how well it performs in the laboratory or in emergency room situations. The hormone melatonin [14] sold as an inexpensive food supplement in the United States, has repeatedly been shown to slow the growth of various cancers when used in conjunction with conventional treatments. Dr. Paolo Lissoni, another Italian oncologist has written many articles about this hormone and conducted clinical trials. But he has despaired over the pharmaceutical industry’s total lack of interest in his treatment approach.

We need a new approach to fight cancer, one that will work safely and effectively since the majority of us are now destined to have to suffer through cancer at one point or another in our lives. The situation in the field of oncology is horrendous and in the area of childhood oncology they have earned their place in the book “The Terror of Pediatric Medicine”, (which one can download as a free e-book.)

Most people today cringe at the idea of finding a cancer then slashing, burning and poisoning it to smithereens. Most would agree that the mainstream cancer approach offers only marginal benefits at best, and providers push screening and aggressive treatment in part because they have nothing else to give, and also because it’s very profitable.

If the body’s cellular metabolism and pH is balanced it is susceptible to little illness or disease.

Since 1971, when President Nixon declared war on cancer, the budget of the National Cancer Institute has increased to $4.8 billion from half a billion and cancer rates are still going up. For most of the past half-century, medical treatment of invasive tumors like those of the breast and colon has relied mainly on drugs, radiation or both, in effect carpet-bombing the DNA of cancer cells. These highly toxic treatments do not address the root causes of cancer and are extremely dangerous, medical approaches involving the highest risks.

The great variety of cancers must reflect a fundamental mechanism by which the disease arises, one that has not been so clearly apparent until now.

Though allopathic medicine already uses sodium bicarbonate it will not any day soon turn to its own arsenal of already available safe and inexpensive medications like sodium bicarbonate or magnesium chloride. The medical industrial complex seems unwilling to change its views on cancer so patients will need to quietly ask their doctors for intravenous bicarbonate without specifying it as a substance they want to use to cure their cancer. It will be easier to find someone if one approaches with a need to treat acidic conditions than the actual cancer. Few doctors are willing to risk their licenses so it is better not to put them in an uncomfortable situation that they cannot control.

The closer the pH is to 7.35 – 7.45, the higher our level of health and well being and our ability to resist states of disease.

Sadly this does not address the need for the use of catheters which target tumors more directly thus pushing us toward a more complete protocol that will target cancer in a more general and comprehensive way. This needs to be done anyway because killing the tumor with a rush of alkalinity that provokes an oxygen rush into the cells will not prevent the condition from reoccurring. Though we can think that acidity is a basic cause of cancer a more basic cause is addressed when we look at what leads to the acidic conditions that are so prevalent in our bodies today.

Sodium bicarbonate is an anti-fungin substance that is very diffusible and thus very effective.

Dr Tullio Simoncini says, “It is useful to consider the extreme sensitivity of fungi to saline and electrolytic solutions. These solutions, because of their extreme capacity for diffusion, are able to reach all the myceliar biological expressions, including the most infinitesimal ones. Salts and bicarbonates, by making the terrain completely inorganic, eliminates the slightest organic fonts that fungi could use for nourishment. In this context, sodium bicarbonate, which is currently used in children’s oral candidoses, appears to be a simple and handy weapon capable of uprooting, inhibiting, or attenuating any neoplastic formation wherever it is possible to easily apply it.”

Cancer is actually a four-letter word ACID, especially lactic acid as a waste product due to the low oxygen level and waste products of yeast and fungus.

For centuries, medicated baths have been one of the first lines of treatment for psoriasis. Even today, with sophisticated immunosuppressive treatments available, Dead Sea salts and spa waters are recognized to be beneficial in the management of psoriatic patients.

To assess statistically the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate baths in psoriasis patients, thirty-one patients with mild-moderate psoriasis were studied. Almost all patients who used NaHCO3- reported a statistically valuable improvement. NaHCO3- baths reduced itchiness and irritation; in general, the patients themselves recognized a beneficial impact on their psoriasis, so much so that they have continued to bathe in NaHCO3- even after the end of the study [15].

Sodium bicarbonate therapy is harmless, fast and effective because it is extremely diffusible. A therapy with bicarbonate for cancer should be set up with strong dosage, continuously, and with pauseless cycles in a destruction work which should proceed from the beginning to the end without interruption for at least 7-8 days. In general a mass of 2-3-4 centimetres will begin to consistently regress from the third to the fourth day, and collapses from the fourth to the fifth. Generally speaking, the maximum limit of the dosage that can be administered in a session gravitates around 500 cc of sodium bicarbonate at five per cent solution, with the possibility of increasing or decreasing the dosage by 20 per cent in function of the body mass of the individual to be treated and in the presence of multiple localisations upon which to apportion a greater quantity of salts, instructs Dr Simoncini.

In the early stages of acidic pH in the body’s tissues, the warning symptoms are mild. These include such things as skin eruptions, headaches, allergies, colds, flu and sinus problems. These symptoms are frequently treated (manipulated) with antibiotic drugs and suppressive medications. The longer and the deeper we become acidic the more our illness takes hold so it’s best to fight acidic conditions early on and in every presenting clinical situation. Certainly a highly toxic drug like anti viral Tamiflu won’t do a fraction of the job sodium bicarbonate will do especially if it’s combined with magnesium chloride and iodine as well as high levels of vitamin C

A Comprehensive and Varied Source for in-depth Information regarding Natural Health, Natural Foods and Natural Alternative Cures can be found at:

In late stages of acidic pH we need to turn to the most alkaline minerals to increase our throw weight of alkalinity into cancer cells. Mass spectrographic and isotope studies have shown that potassium, rubidium, and especially cesium are most efficiently taken up by cancer cells. This uptake was enhanced by Vitamins A and C as well as salts of zinc and selenium. The quantity of cesium taken up was sufficient to raise the cell to the 8 pH range [16].

There seems little grace left in medicine and it is a disgrace that allopathic medicine does not even use its own emergency medicines, proven heavies like magnesium sulfate and chloride, sodium bicarbonate and iodine to anywhere near a thousandth of a percent of their real medical potentials.

Combining pH shift with Heat

In the opening paragraph of this chapter we mentioned killing cancer cells with lasers, with heat.

“Give me a chance to create fever and I will cure any disease.” Parmenides 2000 years ago

Fever is one of the body’s own defensive and healing forces, created and sustained for the deliberate purpose of restoring health. The high temperature speeds up metabolism, inhibits the growth of the invading virus or bacteria, and literally burns the enemy with heat. Fever is an effective protective and healing measure not only against colds and simple infections, but against such serious diseases as polio and cancer.

The idea of destroying cancer with heat is certainly not new and has been widely accepted for a very long time, but has had very limited applications because it was finally concluded that, in order to ensure destruction of the cancerous growth, it is necessary to reach a temperature deadly to healthy cells as well. Many attempts have been made to bypass this problem and some methodologies have been developed like: localized hyperthermia, laserthermia, radio-fractionated hyperthermia and TTT. But they all have limitations and cannot complete the job, because they cannot achieve total necrosis and, unless the entire mass of neoplastic tissue is destroyed, the cancer will continue to grow. But:

Hyperthermia gives cancer a hard time:

1. removing accumulations of stored toxic chemicals that cause cancer

2. improving circulation so that tissues are both nourished with oxygen and flushed of acidic metabolic wastes

3. weakening or even killing cancer cells that have a lower tolerance for heat than healthy cells.

Thus we should easily conclude that far-infrared sauna treatments are going to help a cancer sufferer no matter which way we slice the treatment protocol. But for a more targeted heat to kill cancer tumors we have Dr. Antonella Carpenter who has perfected the treatment of cancer cells with heat through her use of lasers. She generates the death of the cells by suffocation via heat. Dr Carpenter, a physicist with a clinic in Little Rock, says, “As long as the entire neoplastic mass is exposed to the laser light, for the correct amount of time, the success is complete and the results, as well as the healing stages, are always the same.” Her cancer treatment is called Light Induced Enhanced Selective Hyperthermia, which in itself pretty much summarizes all the characteristics of this new therapy. With this form of treatment cancer cells reach a deadly temperature level quickly and are subject to irreversible damage and therefore die, either immediately or within 48 hours.

In a separate chapter we will be talking about hyperthermia in another context, that of the hot bathtub which we will learn to fill with healing substances like sodium bicarbonate. We will be creating our own hot springs, healing pools that will do wonders for our health. Medical treatments of the first order can be had right inside your very own bathtub.

Following public outcry, Israel banned these chemicals from being used on feed for dairy cows and cattle. Over the next ten years, the rate of breast cancer deaths in Israel declined sharply, with a 30% drop in mortality for women under 44 years of age, and an 8% overall decline. At the same time, all other known cancer risks–alcohol consumption, fat intake, lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet–increased significantly. During this period, worldwide death rates from cancer increased by 4%. The only answer scientists could find to explain this was the reduced level of environmental toxins.

[7] With the aim to reach the maximum effect, sodium bicarbonate should be administered directly on the neoplastic masses which are susceptible of regression only by destroying the fungal colonies. This is possible by the selective arteriography (the visualisation through instrumentation of specific arteries) and by the positioning of the arterial port-a-cath (these devices are small basins used to join the catheter). These methods allow the positioning of a small catheter directly in the artery that nourishes the neoplastic mass, allowing the administration of high dosages of sodium bicarbonate in the deepest recesses of the organism.

With this method, it is possible to reach almost all organs; they can be treated and can benefit from a therapy with bicarbonate salts which is harmless, fast, and effective  – with only the exception of some bone areas such as vertebrae and ribs, where the scarce arterial irrigation does not allow sufficient dosage to reach the targets. Selective arteriography therefore represents a very powerful weapon against fungi that can always be used against neoplasias, firstly because it is painless and leaves no after effects, secondly because the risks are very low.

[14] One of the most important supplements for the breast cancer patient is high doses of the hormone melatonin at bedtime. Melatonin blocks estrogen receptors somewhat similarly to the drug tamoxifen without the long-term side effects of tamoxifen. Further, when melatonin and tamoxifen are combined, synergistic benefits occur. Melatonin can be safely taken for an indefinite period of time. The suggested dose of melatonin for breast cancer patients is 3 mg to 50 mg at bedtime. Caution: Although melatonin is strongly recommended for breast cancer patients, interleukin-2 (IL-2), which often is combined with melatonin, should be avoided by breast cancer patients. IL-2 may promote breast cancer cell division.

[16] “A mass spectrographic analysis of cancer cells showed that the cell membrane readily attached cesium, rubidium and potassium, and transmitted these elements with their associated molecules into the cancer cell. In contrast cancer membranes did not transmit sodium, magnesium, and calcium into the cell: the amount of calcium within a cancer cell is only about 1% of that for normal cells. Potassium transports glucose into the cell.

Calcium and magnesium transport oxygen into the cell. As a consequence of the above, oxygen cannot enter cancer cells so the glucose which is normally burned to carbon dioxide and water undergoes fermentation to form lactic acid within the cell. This anaerobic condition was pointed out by Warburg, as early as 1924. Potassium, and especially rubidium and cesium are the most basic of the elements. When they are taken up by the cancer cells they will thus raise the pH of the cells. Since they are very strong bases as compared to the weak lactic acid it is possible that the pH will be raised to values in the 8.5 to 9 range. In this range the life of the cancer cell is short, being a matter of days at the most. The dead cancer cells are then absorbed by the body fluids and eventually eliminated from the system.” – Dr. Brewer

Baking Soda & Maple Syrup Cancer Treatment

Related Case Study (Online Testimonial):

C from Ohio writes: “Skin cancer and baking soda: Some time in the middle of January I was checking the net info on cancer always involving fungus – the info from the Italian Dr. Simoncini. My husband has been out of regular work for about 2 years and we do not have health insurance but he has needed a spot on his side taken care of. Upon watching the online video showing that cancer always comes with fungus and that baking soda could alkalize and destroy the colonies we decided to give it a try. We started by mixing baking soda with water and spreading it on a large band-aide. That did not work so well because the baking soda turns hard as a rock. My husband decided to mix it with glycerin to see if that would keep the soda softer longer and it did. The paste is made by putting some baking soda in a small dish and adding the glycerin until you have a white paste thin enough to spread on a band-aide. It still gets hard but not near as fast.

The spot on his side was a bit less than a quarter and about the thicknesses of 3 quarters. It definitely needed attention. It first reduced in height and then started shrinking circumference. It did go through various stages that looked really bad. At times I wondered what was going on. (Note: It is not a process without pain.) It was working and so my husband wanted to keep on going with it. We kept making sure the bandage was changed. He was also taking baking soda internally for a while but then stopped that. By the end of March it is basically gone. The area has a bit more healing to do but that just takes time.

The plus’s of this are so wonderful. 1. No surgery!!!! 2. No dealing with the side affects of surgery – like as muscle that doesn’t work as good because it was cut. 3. It only cost the price of baking soda, glycerin and band-aides. 4. Peace of mind.

We do realize that the fungus can still be in the body. He is trying extra strong oil of oregano to kill any remaining fungus infection. But that is another story.

Skin Cancer Before and After

02/12/2012: Violet from New York writes: “My husband and I have an alternative health practice. We have worked and with God”s grace cured many types of cancer. Cancer always occurs with an acid ph. The microbes which naturally live in our bodies evolve to pathogenic forms with an acid ph. So the clue and cure for all disease is to alkalize the body. Bathe in Epsom salt and baking soda. Drink baking soda and eat lots of raw green foods as salads, green vegetable juice and drink huge amounts of alkaline water. Read the book, the Ph miracle and the book We Beat Cancer. We studied with the doctor who wrote the first book and cured the couple that wrote the second book. We cured my own lymphatic cancer. If you want to remain young and healthy eat raw with lots of green and less fruit. Cancer loves sugar. There are good substitutes for baking soda such as ph salts. Stay well and keep alkalizing” “

5/20/12 Solar Eclipse | 6/3 Lunar Eclipse | Ascension Process | The Initiation of Monadic Absorption

15 05 2012
by Children of the Sun Foundation
RE: Upcoming Celestial Alignments, Next Collective Initiation for Planetary Light Servers, The Law of Magnetic Control, Transcending Sexual Desire and Control Patterns, Transmuting the Distorted Sexual Imprint, Transcending Gender Identification

Through the influence of these May-June celestial alignments, monadic level energy will catalyze an instant evolution of consciousness in the spiritually awakened… to spawn a quantum leap of the entire four-body system in a potential quickening that far surpasses any initiatory process ever experienced in the history of human evolution on Earth.

Highlights of the Upcoming Celestial Alignments

During this next 30-day period, we are potentially experiencing the most powerful surge of transforming energy in known history as a quantum galactic gateway opens to unleash higher-dimensional energy triggering a greatly accelerated shift of consciousness.

Our expanded human and planetary design is being alchemically reconstructed by these incoming light encoded frequencies which are anchoring the foundational overlays of multi-dimensional templating within the physical plane, ushering in the next stage of DNA activation and energy blueprint configuration.

As Planetary Light Servers, specifically those in attunement with the mission of Children of the Sun, our role is to consciously receive and physically integrate these incoming light encodements in sufficient numbers. This embodied multi-dimensional templating can then be transferred to and through the planetary Crystalline Grid, accessible to the higher consciousness of all humanity while impulsing the ascension frequency patterns into the global mass mind.

These back-to-back eclipses leading into the Venus Transit and culminating into a Solstice Sun will have powerful influence on the entire planetary grid system and energy hologram to enable the energy template of Divine Love and Unity to anchor more firmly into the upshifting collective consciousness grid.

New Moon Solar Eclipse

Sunday, May 20th with Planetary Grid Transmissions

We are preparing for the most incredible New Moon Solar Eclipse alignment which positions the Earth/Moon/Sun directly in alignment with our Milky Way galactic core and the central star Alcyone in the Pleiadian star system.

Within the path of this total Solar Eclipse, it is expected that Earth dimension will commence an entire reboot of its operating system which includes our own bodily system.  This is heralded to also be a solar system, galactic and universal shift and recalibration.
This New Moon eclipse is setting into greater momentum a new expression of a unified male-female power that is fully aligned with the Divine Will and Love-Wisdom aspect of Mother Father God. With this comes healing and transformation at both a personal and global level including grand scale release of abusive control patterns, sexual dysfunctions, karmic patterning and negative imprints left from the mis-aligned expression of both male and female domination.
The Lunar Eclipse and Venus Transit of June 2012
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse ~ Monday, June 4 ~ with Planetary Grid Transmissions
Venus Transit ~ June 5/6

The remarkable astronomical transits of May continue into the month of June with the historic Venus Transit across the face of the Sun. This will be preceded by a Lunar Eclipse. The partially eclipsed Full Moon forms a mutable T-square involving the Sun, Venus and Mars giving great opportunity to heal gender issues and relationships of every type.

The days immediately following the Lunar Eclipse, we will experience a rare and spectacular event known as the Venus Transit. This is essentially an eclipse, however, instead of the moon coming between the Earth and the Sun it is the planet Venus. As the basis of the Mayan “Long Count Calendar”, the Venus Transit is regarded by many as the celestial signal that the “Great Transformation of the Closing of the Cycle” has begun. As the blended radiations of the Sun and Venus make their way into the Earth’s electromagnetic field, it weaves the energies of illuminating love and unity into mass consciousness. This is a profound catapulting force and opportunity for mass healing, transformation and the integration of gender polarities.
May 20 – New Moon Solar Eclipse

June 3 – Full Moon Lunar Eclipse
June 4/5 –  Venus Transit
  • Commencement of the Initiation of Monadic Absorption
  • Transcending “Personality Love”
  • Transcending Sexual Desire and Control Patterns
  • Transmuting the Distorted Sexual Imprint
  • Transcending Gender Identification

Through the influence of these celestial alignments, monadic level energy will catalyze an instant evolution of consciousness in the spiritually awakened… to spawn a quantum leap of the entire four-body system in a potential quickening that far surpasses any initiatory process ever experienced in the history of human evolution on Earth.

We are being swiftly prepared for the ultimate transfiguration into our I AM Avatar blueprint of androgynous perfection. This is the state in which our inner male and female polarities are completely balanced and we walk not identified as a man or a woman, but from a greatly expanded DNA expression as our mighty I AM Presence, our God Self of the Light.

We are revealing in a completely new way of relating in which each person operates as a sovereign entity, fully balanced and centered from within. This attitude of conscious living serves as a precursor to the emergence of sacred relating with any and all others who are also operating from this high level attunement.
The Ascension Process

(a simple review to understand our next collective initiation!)
The journey of ascension is simply… a return to our origin. At our particular level of human evolution, we are making transition into a multi-dimensional consciousness perception. To do this, we must reconcile spirit and matter in this third dimensional reality by increasing our vibration and raising our internal fire energy known as the kundalini force.
For those of us who are remaining in service to the planet, the ascension is a process of initiation in which our focus is placed upon the merging of our individualized human personality body with our soul vehicle and then with our Monad to become one unified being here on Earth.
It is to remember that we are a tiny humanized aspect of our greater God Self. This God Self is that which is referred to as the Monad, or, the mighty I AM Presence. This magnificent divine aspect of our human self has created the so-called Oversoul, which is essentially the Soul family to which our individual Soul belongs. Our individual Soul is that part of our self that reincarnates over and over again in order to evolve and ultimately return to the monadic source.
Our Monad contains many Souls. Our human personality and our soul are individualized aspects of a group of souls and even a group of Monads which are all ascending. This is why we are constantly referring to the Group Avatar, the Group I AM. We are all aspects of each other coming back into a grand merge with each other… as one greater being. The mighty I AM Presence is, in truth, a God Self containing ALL of us, as aspects of itself.

It is not just us, our individual consciousness that ascends, but all of the souls and oversouls that make up our Monad. To make real progress, we must get our entire oversoul and monadic family  working within the same resonant frequencies. All soul extensions that we are connected to must also become clear, integrated and unified from the greater purpose of the I AM Presence.

This is why we must help as many people as possible in our personal sphere of influence!

Commencement of…The Initiation of Monadic Absorption
All Planetary Light Servers who are attuned to the mission of Children of the Sun are asked to listen to this 30-minute MP3 audio narrative, or, view the colorful You Tube video. This gives our foundational directive for the remaining months of 2012.

Through our direct experiences, we have learned that in order to expand into multi-dimensional blueprinting, we are required to let go of all emotional and mental attachments of the material world including fame, fortune, power, selfishness, people, family, self image, reputation, linear concepts, belief systems, etc..
The collective initiation endured by many Planetary Light Servers throughout 2011 and these early months of 2012 has related to the release of material plane attachment and self identification as directed by free will and the desires of the controlling ego.
As we accomplish this rather challenging process to completely surrender the personality body, we advance to the next stage of accelerated ascension.  The initiation now being presented to the collective Light Server grouping actually commences the merger with our group Monad, that aspect of our Greater Self which is the Group I AM Presence of our individualized human aspect.
This initiation is somewhat similar to the process of soul merge only it is the beginning stages of “monadic absorption” and is experienced by those with high levels of embodied and stabilized light quotient. These are the ones serving as Path Cutters and eventually everyone will follow. This is the phase when direct contact is actualized between the Monad (I AM Presence) and the surrendered personality body. The gap in consciousness between spirit and matter is bridged by a well developed Antahkarana. The personality becomes a direct instrument of service under the direction of the Monad, which by-passes the soul. The soul then becomes redundant and is absorbed within the Monad.

Once we are in the absorption process by the Monad which sent us forth, we begin expressing more prominently the monadic ray of that Source Itself.

This leads us into our final initiation of earth plane human ascension as we completely return to the Monad and merge with the Group I AM while retaining a physical “light body” form. This is the attainment of 5th dimensional consciousness which is characterized by the experience of oneness. This is potentially what will occur at years end for some or soon thereafter for many more.

Transcending “Personality Love”

To propel this next initiation into high momentum and through these celestial alignments in May-June, 2012, we are greatly supported by the surging forces of incomprehensible Love from the Galactic Center.
These omnipotent cohesive forces are spawning transformative process of the desire nature, or, conditional love from the personality nature, linking us up with the greater magnetism of the love aspect on the buddhic plane, the plane of unity.
The Law of Magnetic ControlThe Universal Law of Magnetic Control will begin to take greater effect in more of the Planetary Light Servers, those of  us who are now advancing with a greater percentage of bodily light quotient.
As one of the main laws of our solar system, the Law of Magnetic Control operates from the buddhic plane of unity as it consumes and crystallizes the static human condition. Full control of the personality body is overtaken by the Monad via the egoic vehicle.
In our advancement to a fifth dimensional existence, the egoic vehicle still remains in the human form, however, in a transcended state, unified with its Source. The lower human aspect serves as the instrument through which the higher is functioning and through the triad energy of:
1. Divine Will
2. Love-Wisdom (the Christ principle)
3. Active Intelligence
Once the egoic vehicle is  surrendered back into the light of the Monad (its I AM Source), a new multidimensional operating system completely over-rides the human design. Deeper, more intricate physical restructuring takes place within our body immediately removing any remaining imprints of duality within our entire holographic energy matrix.

As the human consciousness fades further and further from any familiar coordinates, there is a feeling of being erased and at the same time being absorbed into the Light. This new operational system is not about intelligence or remembering… it is a complete emptying so the greater aspect can take over.

Nerve synapses are instantly reconnecting as we make our swift return to wholeness. We are being rewired so that the Higher Mental Body is more accessible, to directly bridge with our Monad and the Universal light of harmonic union and unconditional love.In this physical transformation, likened to a change of mental software, the neural patterns in the physical body endure a process of recodement.

Transcending Sexual Desire and Control Patterns

It is during this phase that many of us transcend the sexual desire and any related dysfunction. This especially concerns the force which brings about the physical merging as a result of our responses to the body’s animal nature. These are acts of sexual sensory pleasure, self oriented sexual control, sexual abuse and imbalanced emotional patterns as a result of the sexual identity and appetite.
This is not to say that celibacy is required for ascension. It is the addiction to sexual relating as a lower pleasure seeking desire or barrier to self love that is to be examined. Love becomes limited through desire.
It is the qualifying intention that determines the frequency (vibration) of the sexual intimacy.
These patterns are balanced by a higher expression of the law when the human system is again androgynous and everyone is truly regarded as an equal expression of God. Patterns of sexual lust and desire are transmuted into their higher frequency expressions of joy, creativity, compassion and union with the divinity in all things.
Transmuting the Distorted Sexual Imprint
We are ready to transmute and transcend the misuse of sexuality as a power base in the old paradigm for both males and females.
Both sexes strongly identify with their sexual centers/genitals which becomes the primary driving force behind existence. There is a belief in the need to express ourselves from our gender identification and sexually for pleasure. This is another illusion of our attachment to the senses.
Many of us are still embarrassed or carry self worth issues around our bodies and especially in our nakedness to others. Our egos have caused us to judge others and ourselves based on the size and function of our sexual centers and the overall sexual desirability of our bodies, which then contributes to criticizing the perfection of God’s Design.
Women, in particular, have been carrying the record of sexual trauma and abuse for a long time, sustaining the imbalance of gendered energies on the Earth. As we expand beyond our physical senses, we begin to experience the infinite bliss that is available to us through our connection to God. Sexuality and pro-creation occurs through the divine impulse of pure thought and Divine Love as union with God Source. As we transcend the pull of the lower chakras and become the master of our three-fold personality (physical, emotional, mental), the chakras fold up into our heart center and we become radiators of Divine Love. New meanings of intimacy will also emerge as we embody more and more light and our sexuality transitions to the pure embrace of energetic union and rapture with all beings and realms of dimension.
Transcending Gender Identification

For contemplation…
The Law of Gender embodies the truth that gender is manifested in everything. The masculine and feminine is ever at work on all planes of causation. On the higher planes, it gender expresses through higher forms of manifestation. This law works in the direction of generation, regeneration, and creation. All life forms contain the two elements of gender – masculine and feminine.- On the great physical plane, the sexes of all species are manifested as male and female and the role they play in sexual reproduction.- On the great mental plane, gender manifests as masculine and feminine energies that exist within each and every person. Every male has its female element, and every female has its male element.- On the great spiritual plane, gender manifests as the Father-Mother principle of the Infinite Omnipresent God in whose mind the universe is conceived and firmly held. It is written, “We all live, move, and have our being within God”.
In the Earth ascension process, the human personality achieves the merger of God, and the self is seen as neither male or female, but as one blended whole.

In Summary…

Through the incoming cosmic light frequencies, we are being assisted, energetically and structurally, to reunite with our wholeness as an androgynous being in union with our Source of Life… the mighty I AM Presence.
It is from this reintegrated wholeness, that we are able to interpret information from the levels of Omnipresence Oneness and in a manner that will raise us collectively into infinitely powerful, incredibly loving beings of tremendous wisdom. Jesus the Christ prophesied this with reference to “The Untouchables” who shall walk the Earth.
As we incorporate this new programming, we will operate more deeply and confidently from a balanced and magnificent mantle of Cosmic Love, Cosmic Wisdom and Cosmic Power.
We simultaneously give great service to Mother Earth, our galaxy and entire universe. Through our willingness to completely remove the holographic imprint of separation from our own personal vehicles, we help to transmute gender division and its distortions from the macro levels including war and conflict, hatred, victimhood, suppression, control and sexual abuse, to name a few.

THANK YOU to all Children of the Sun Planetary Light Servers for your continued support to the Foundation and your tremendous service to Humanity. We are an untouchable force and ALL LIFE is raised with us!!
